Friends with benefits?

Before anyone begins damning me to an eternal hell, I've recently begun a sexual relationship with a friend. And yes, I'm married and despite many years of trying, the homebound compatability is not happening, the attraction is gone but divorce is too expensive to pursue at this time.

Anyone else in this type of situation?

My friend is everything the wife is not and sexually, it's the best I've ever had. HELP!

Have you told your wife so she can find a friend for herself? Might be a good idea.

Snarky, but valid, however, I doubt she has time since she's so busy telling everyone else how to live their lives.

Just a point...not judging you; you did not ask for my opinion on infidelity. I just think there are times when marriages don't work and due to financial reasons divorce may not be an option. So I think if you are going to stay married on paper, why not both be happy? Or try to co-exist in the same household on decent terms and be happy?

I gotcha, I think she's happy the way she is. On the other hand, I'm not and this makes me a little closer to happy. Revealing the extent of my friendship would blow it all away so I'm content to let it go as is for the time being.

What I'd really like to know is who else has been in this situation before or is now?

You know, in some places you can get divorced without using a lawyer, if you can agree on things though.

Look I know this will be tough - but you really have to TALK with your wife about this. Not about your friend, but about your sexual incompatibility. If she's willing to permit outside partners - some women will just to get your sexual demands off her duty list - then you're good. Please be sure to tell her that if she finds someone she likes, that it is fine with you. Just keep it out of the house and out of the newspaper. If she's not cool with that, then its either cheating or divorce. But TALK you must.

I am all for open relationships, provided both parties are mature enough to handle it. Sounds like it might be a solution in this instance?
