I was reading posts in this forum and I realised that I honestly dont know most people's definition of what makes a long term relationship.

In your opinion, how long does a couple have to be together before their relationship is considered to be a longterm relationship?

I'm aware that this clearly depends on the peoples' age, and for teenagers, a few months is often a "long term committed relationship" and such. (Me, I'm in my mid 20s.)

lol.

I personally still don't really know.
I've "been" with someone for roughly 2 1/2 years now (I've known him a few months longer but we started our interested around 2 1/2 years ago) and I consider that long-term in ways. We aren't exactly together. We're more of friends with benefits. But seeing as I have issues keeping friends in general that long, I consider him a bit long term, if at the very least in the sense of friends.

If I was actually dating someone, I dunno. I see 6 months as a long time (and I'm in my mid 20s) so perhaps I'll go with that.
