I recently read a book on the subject of trying to forget ex's and leaving relationships in the past. Even though I was really sceptical about it at first I actually found it really useful. The book is called "How to mend your broken heart" and its by Paul McKenna and Hugh Willbourn and its publishd by 'Bantam Press'. The reason I say I was sceptical is that I assumed it would simply be another "pop psychology" type book in a simliar vein to "men are from mars..." However, it was very easy to read and made alot of really good sense about issues that I felt with my previous long term relationship.
It also suggests ways of trying to move on and break the obsessive thought patterns about ex's, which lead to the bad emotions. I'd like to state emphatically that I don't have any vested interest in this book, it was merely something that I found when I was feeling really cut up about my ex. I bought it in the UK and it was very cheap. It did make alot of sense to me and despite my scepticism I found it really good. The ISBN no. is: 0-593-05053-3.
Apologies to the moderators of this site if my recommendation breaks any rules, but I simply wanted to recommend it as a worthwhile read for anyone who has been hurt in a relationship (which must be pretty much everyone).
