thanks for the spelling EEK I've never seen it written
hm perhaps they are homosexuals come to think of it I was a bit young when this came up at home and I suppose the fact that they were gay was passed over as I was barely aquanted with the facts of life
Do any male prostitutes visit here?
no offence kjp but you must have really low self estem to think that you would need a male prostitute, i dont thnk you will need to pay for it just go down town one night see how many guys try chatting you up.
Just for the sake of accuracy: the spelling is "gigolo."
As far the meaning of the words, this is probably an unwarranted turn into semantics, but "prostitute" is a clearly defined word, as is "male." A male who has sex with someone (of either sex or, for that matter, both at once, I suppose) is a "male prostitute." Gigolo means, or least connotes, a particular subset of male prostitutes.
So far as I can tell -- which isn't very far, and is based on second-hand information -- in the US at least, most male prostitutes are either bisexual or exclusively gay. I know one woman (an attractive woman, too) who says she thought about hiring one, but was put off the AIDS danger.
There's a little bit of odd logic above in support of the contention that the demand for male prostitutes is exclusively homosexual, because women can get men for free ... for one thing, I'm pretty sure that most gay men can get men for free too.
I can think of any number of reasons a woman might want to hire a male prostitute:
- Discretion and no encumberances whatsoever. Kind of important if, say, she's married.
- Other than some money, nothing else is expected of her: she doesn't have to do anything for any reason except because she likes it.
- Ability to "shop" for a guy with particular characteristics or skills.
- Access to men who are younger and more attractive than would otherwise be interested in her.
On the last point, I think there's a tendency vastly to overestimate the general attractiveness of women to men. On the men's side, that may be because men tend to forget most not-so-attractive women even exist, since they scarcely look at them. I'm not sure what's going on on the women's side. I think even an average-looking guy who, for whatever reason, considers himself free to engage in unencumbered sex with a random woman would take a pass on significantly more than half of the women in the general population. And, uh, notwithstanding what you see in the movies, most men do not, at a particular time, consider themselves free to engage in unencumbered sex with a random woman.
The most likely alternative for an average-looking woman (or let's say below average ... after all approximately half the women are) with the particular desire would be to hit some sleazy singles bar and buy drinks for young, hunky guys. There are obvious advantages to simply hiring someone: no rejection, no being seen in a sleazy singles bar, it probably won't cost a lot more than the drinks necessary to get a suitable guy interested, and a guy she hires won't be impaired by having consumed the drinks.
As for finding them, I don't think the OP is looking very hard. This is the Internet, after all. Do a search.
What's wrong with kjprojekt's question? Doesn't a lady has a right to ask the same question as a gentleman...
It's obvious that a woman can have the same motive as a man when seeking a male or female prostitute...
I don't mean to say that it is not the case that there's much more male-paying-female prostitution than the other way around. The reason is, apparently, that there is a difference between men and women in the prevalance and frequency of interest in the service that, for a lack of a better term, I'll call "unencumbered sex with a person you don't know." Plus, men, I think, put much more importance on their partners' physical attractiveness and youth than women do.
But I suspect it affects the market more from the demand side than the supply side. That is: there's relatively less female-paying-male prostitution (compared to the reverse) mostly because relatively few woman are interested in the USWAPYDK service, and less so because huge numbers of men are willing to supply it (certainly not to any woman, without regard to her attractiveness). Consider the homosexual cases:
- There seems to be a fair amount of gay prostitution (indeed, it may be as or more prevalent than "standard" prostitution, if you adjust for the size of the population), because the demand by males drives the market, and the supply doesn't have that much affect.
- I don't think there's much lesbian prostitution at all.
Which is all very well and good, and everything's fine for a woman, so long as, at any particular moment, she's one of the relatively-more-prevalent-among-women-than-men sorts who has limited interest in USWAPYDK. If, on the other hand, she does (either in general, or just all of a sudden), and if she's not fortunate enough to be unusually attractive, she's not that much different from a guy in the same situation. Yeah, it seems that more guys are in that situation more of the time, but neither all men nor all women are all the same, and certainly they're not all the same all the time.

Read the threads that she's posted, something seems...off. They seem fake, and of course, anyone has the right to ask any question, but hers don't seem...right to me. Just a gut feeling like we're all being played.
Um I do hate to tell you this but almost ANY woman can have free sex from almost any man whenever she might desire it. Just select the correct time and place and target. That's sex, not a relationship. Sleazy singles' bar not required.
... almost any man whenever she might desire it. Just select the correct time and place and target.
There seems to be a little bit of double-think here.
"Almost any man" isn't the same thing as "the correct ... target"
"whenever she might desire" isn't the same thing as "the correct time"
If you translate:
"almost ANY woman" to mean "an attractive woman"
"almost any man" to mean "certain men" and
"whenever she might desire" to mean "in a particular circumstance"
I'd agree.
The portion of women who don't qualify as "attractive," as I'm using the term above, is significant. I'd estimate it at something north of 50%: maybe more like 70% or 80%. Others may differ on the percentage, but if anyone thinks it's not at least 20%, he or she is nuts. And 20% of the women is a very significant number of people: hardly worthy of being ignored (whatever guys may do to them at parties).
There's actually a little sort of studenty indy documentary that addresses this subject that I once saw on the Sundance Channel or some such place. It was about a plain (and kind of personality-impaired, to be honest) young woman who tested the assertion that any woman can find a guy to have sex with her. She couldn't.
Plus, just to link it back to the original topic, which had to do with why certain types of prostitution exist, consider four statements (I've put these in order):
- "Almost any gay man can find another gay man to have sex with him for free" isn't true, but I think it's the closer to true than the next one. And there's pretty much gay prostitution.
- "Almost any woman can find a man to have sex with her for free" isn't quite true either. There's very little male-for-female prostitution (but there's some).
- "Almost any man can find a woman to have sex with him for free" actually isn't enormously less true than the previous statement, so long as you don't get real picky what woman. There's quite a bit of female-for-male prostitution.
- "Almost any lesbian can find another lesbian to have sex with her for free" isn't really true at all. There's almost no lesbian prostitution, so far as I can tell.
Okay since you all seem to have issues with the short forms:
If a man is going to settle for just sex with a woman - and you do not need me to tell you that 'attractiveness' varies - he can find one. He may have to look but he can find one. She may only have three rotten teeth but hey - she's female and she's breathing.
You can apply the same to each of the groups named.
These thread reminds me something fierce of another post I made elsewhere about the economic aspects of prostitution and the supply / demand aspects of it.
I'm not surprised it was discussed in the past.
Men gotta pay (one way or another). Women just have to say yes.
Dear WSO, you haven't quite thought this through, hun.
If I'm not charging and the men aren't chargng.....then it is all free.
It is just a question of getting with the right group of friends.
I think what was at the back of WSO's mind but did not quite make it to the keyboard was that traditionally men are the ones that pay their way to a womans bed (or heart if you want to put it romantically)
either the guy takes the short and immediately more expensive short cut of going to a prostitute or he has to wine dine and cater to all the other "things" required when dating etc to get the woman of his dreams, things are probably a little more "equal" now and the only time you'd find a woman alone shelling out money is if she is that desperate that she has to pay an "escort"
Do any male prostitutes visit here?
KJP:
Out of curiosity, why do you ask?
I do not know. If so, you can likely expect a pm response.
I do know that some female prostitutes have been here and have had pm's from them - not propositions, just little questions or notes.

idk...just wanted to find out, thats all...also for important reasons;)
how come you always ask the most unusual questions ? are you looking for a male prostitute ?

yes. of course.

A male prostitute? Isn't that for homosexual activity?
Because usually if a woman wants a man......

.....she goes looking for a jigalo (male prostitute not sure of the spelling)
why would a women need a prozzy
if they look ok they can just go up to most men and ask for sex. wallah
exactly what i was thinking
well fact is male prostitutes that are not really called prostitutes but jigalos do exist thats all I know
LOL
yeah most guys would just give it away for free :D
That is gigalo, hun. Yes, they do exist but they are few and far between and also very expensive because they are usually very up-scale.
Male prostitues are for homosexual activities.
There is a difference.
and hurray for men who give it away for free!!!!

In some ways it is very very sad.
There are quite a few older women who get just as lonely as men do. You'd be surprised how many of them pay young men to service them.
Probably to be curious but, remember curosity killed the cat . :)
Sorry, I'm not a male prostitute. However, I am a male slut! :D lol
There are PLENTY of male sluts around and - best of all - they're FREE!
