Making periods more bearable

Okay, so my gf started her period yesterday, and she gets really emotional and has terrible cramps. Now my question is: Is there anything that I could do to help her with it, I mean im really lost at this kind of thing since i dont really go through this event. But is there anything i could do or anything she could take to help make it easier, cuz i hate seeing her so emotional..since its not the happy kind.

birth control will make it more bearable physically but the added hormones might make things worse in this case...

yeah I was thinking that two, but if her mom found out she was taking birth control she would kill her and me even though we wouldnt be having sex. Her mom goes through her room all the time so shed prolly find em.

If I am in pain and in a pissy mood, I like to be just left ALONE!
Don't hang around me and ask me if I am ok or if I need anything!

If indeed her periods are that bad.... then there is nothing wrong w/ her approaching her mom or her DR on her own and asking them what she can do to help it. Don't come out and say...put me on the pill... but say this is really affecting my daily life... I need something!!

My period (even before the pill) was like nothing. No one around me really knew I was on it ( I wasn't bitchy or crying all the time) I'd have maybe one day of stomach/back discomfort... but don't cramping lay in bed all day pain.

We women have been handling our periods since the beginning of time. We neither need nor want men to "help" us.

I read one of my girlfriend's self help books with periods and memorized a few details to freak her out...
Oooooh.... haha.... that didn't turn out too well at the time.
