Basically I have lumps right on the back of my tongue by my throat. It actually feels like food is stuck in my mouth. They are more like big red dot lumps. They themselves are not really painful but my throat is.
I have a had a dodgy throat for weeks. Since I had the flu. And for the past 2 weeks lost my voice on and off. The dot a really recently though or have at least expanded recently.
I have had unprotected oral sex within the past week however, I know he was recently checked, as was I. He said he had nothing, but in reality lets face it, I don't know if he is lying. So there is a possibility its an STI or STD which is a horrid thought.
Its doesn't look like a fungal thing as its not white and doesn't move or puss like.
I am going to book an appt. tomorrow morning but I would love to get some advice so I can shut my mind off.
Tongue or is it the sides of your throat??? Do you still have tonsils? Sounds like tonsillitis & need to r/o Mono and if you get Lyme's where you are you need a test done.
I would not be thinking STD--more of a general bacterial or viral infection...but you need to be checked either way....the first thing which jumps is not a STD; I think towards the lines of infections non-std since you would have the same issue vaginally.
Well I had my tonsils removed when I was 5, however was told 2 months ago I actually have a small bed on tonsils. I didn't relieze the grew back!!! And the dots are on the back of my tongue. But the glands on the side of my throat or under my tongue are a tad swollen, again a recent thing.
Whats Lymes?

Okay...you have to look up Lyme's its a tick born illness; I assume not predominant where you are. If I had to guess? Mono, Strep, or Staph infection. I vote on Mono.
O thats that illness always mentioned on House hahaha. Not common here at all. And mono is known as glandular fever here I think. I had that years ago and it was nasty. I don't fell that bad at all its just my throat annoying me and taking me voice.
Thats for that its put my mind at rest. Now to try and sleep with these dot lumps filling my throat. Its annoying grr!

T's sister had Mono over a year ago and still has stuff perk up from it. Isn't it said that it never truly leaves the body?
It was tonsillitis on my teenie tiny tonsil. Now I am getting blood tests. Damn doctors ha! On bright side rugs cleared it right up.

Based on your symptoms it sounded as if you had Tonsillitis yet you had them removed prior. Not as if I can look down your throat on-line...blood work shoudl be done to determine the body's reaction & degree of infection. If this is a recurrent issue; you may wish to have the remainder removed.
What are "rugs"?
Mono is a virus and clears up with time. Often teens are seen with it since it's spread through droplets of saliva; hence, known as the "kissing disease". Acute Mono will clear up & have not seen people with it in a chronic form. Generally w/Mono...you also need to rule out 4 other diseases.

Nah I just am scared of needles so blood tests are not fun. Apparently a warning came on the screen telling them i was bad with needles. O dearie me. I honestly try and be calm the blood just wont come out!!!
