Lube, needed or not?

So i have had sex with condoms and all, but my gf is going on birth control so we don't want to have to use them anymore, and especially cause we don't want her to get pregnant. But, i was curious as to how many people actually use lube and if it's a good idea or not? Is it easier and less painful when going in and would any girls or guys here recommend it? Please tell me your thoughts!
Thanks!!

Your post is confusing. Okay you use condoms for STD protection, she uses birth-control to share her part of the responsibility. Lube enters where here? This woman is your g/f not your wife.

If you want a lubricant try one which has spermicidal properties. Condoms are a must unless you are willing to risk disease or pregnancy.

Sufficient foreplay should not cause one to use have to use a lube. It does not add up to me--please read The post called "Birth Control Failure Rates".

I didn't really understand either, but from what I did understand.

My advice, you should still wear a condom.

As for using lube.. I would say only if necessary. If she becomes "wet" enough for her to enjoy sex, then why add it? It gets messy.

Using lube gives a very different feeling to not using it, I would say don't most of the time, just get her really wet, but bring it out occasionally if you are in the mood. It is indeed rather messy.

Wear the condom, and if you have to ask, USE the lubricant! If it hurts, sticks, or is otherwise uncomfy - USE the lubricant! Even with foreplay, things can dry out. Condoms tend to be a bit sticky and rough - USE the lubricant. Just a bit reapplied as needed will do. Remember how we tell it isn't the size - its the motion? Lubricant hellps improve the motion. Got it?

The "personal lubricant" industry is large for a reason. If she experiences discomfort, use it. And if you are going to use, you may as well use spermicidal vagina jelly - it is essentially lubrican with spermicide added and nothing is perfect in preventing pregnancy.

okay great, thanks guys! and sorry if my question was a bit confusing :$. The only reason i said we don't want to wear a condom is because were both our firsts, meaning we havn't had sex with any1 else and don't plan on it, been going out for over 18 months and still love eachother a lot and don't plan on seperating, so were not too worried about STD's. Will use condoms occasionaly, but yes they do usually dry out on us, but was just curious if you need it while having sex without a condom. Thanks

when me and my bf dont use a comdom we use lube, or he goes down on me a\or the other way around, but you should use a condom more the just a few times, birth control is only 99.9% effective, not 100%. there's still a chance that you could get her pregnate.

Tangerinesky,

Please stop posting nonsense and read around a bit. The only thing that is 99% effective is having your tubes tied.

Yeah - hearts and flowers and forever is 18 months. We don't ever plan on etc. etc. etc. - excuse me - I feel ill. First or 25th - does NOT matter!

How many times do people have to repeatedly make the same errors before they get a clue?

It is patently UNFAIR for you to ask her to pump her body full of hormones and yet you to get off WITHOUT wearing a condom. She bears the burden and yet you get off scot-free, Damn good deal - for you.

Girl, kick him to the curb and get a guy who knows what being responsible is and cares more about you than he cares about his 'comfort'..

You can use lube whenever it is needed. I get very wet and don't often "need" lubricant, but I find it makes it a lot more pleasureful for me. I would recommend astroglide as it works really well for me.
