ok, first let me say, I did read the first hundred or two posts from the Anal 101 thread. I'm getting my wife to start to open up to the idea of anal sex and if things go well, we may actually try it in the coming weeks. I'd like to be prepared for that time and she already mentioned that we need a better lube for it (which I agree).
What are some better ones that you kind experienced folks would suggest for first time anal sex ?

Use a lot more than you think you need.
Make sure to spread it around inside with a finger gently and slowly.
Do not use silicone based lubes.

Do not use any lube with added chemical effects such as tingling or warming. Those all have different concentrations of menthol which will irritate the tissue at best and cause a very, very bad reaction at worst.
Use a non-latex condom for less abrasiveness on the delicate lining, NOT LAMB(doesn't stop disease).
Having said that, Maximus is a glycerin-free, high glycol paraben water based lubricant that is thick and doesn't dry out very quickly compared to the standard glycerin and paraben water based KY.
While you may not be worried about STD's, concern should still exists for a urinary tract infection from the myriad of bacteria which reside in the anus. It does *NOT* have the healthy habitat of a vagina.
If you are going to insert a finger, penis, or, toy, use a water-based lube.
Try K-Y available at most pharmacies and super market drug departments.
Stay away from silicone products, especially if using toys/dildos.

It's soft, almost silky to the touch (it is by the same producer as the more watery liquid silk:rolleyes:). Maximus is not sticky at all, but is thick, rich and syrupy. The fact it does not contain glycerin is very nice for men/women that responds to that ingredient in other lubes.
