Lube

Well, right off the bat the only thing I can really think of you doing is pleasing her first then she will get all wet and it will be all lubed up and ready for you. But take it slow and be gentle with her.
I am glad that there is a condom planned. That is a good, but insufficinet, start. A spermicidal lubricant inserted into her vagina is a good idea. The two leading brands and KY Plus and Ortho II. They are each water based lubricants (will not harm the condom) and assist in preventing pregnancy.
Vaseline is mineral based and weakens latex, but not polyurethane, condoms. If you are using Durex or other condoms made of poly, vaseline is OK. If you do not know, do not use vaseline. There is a high enough failure rate for condoms.
In the absence of a water based lubricant, vegetable oils from the kitchen cabinet are preferable to vaseline. My g/f and I use safflower oil with a few drops of almod oil for massage.
Strong recommendation is get some vaginal jelly. It really makes the condom more effective. You can find the figures elsewhere on the site but there is a huge difference in effectiveness between just a condom and a condom with spermicide in the vagina - and a dollop inside the condom, as well.

Would that be safe with a latex condom? Do all oils break down latex, or only petroleum products?
is it safe to use vaseline as a lubricant if you are not going to use a condom?

Lubricants that contain oil -- such as Vaseline, baby oils and vegetable oils -- should not be used with latex condoms since they weaken the rubber. This is per the WebMd website, which is a trustworthy source of all kinds of medical information.
I don't think this contradicts Brandye because I think she was implying that vegetable oil is less damaging than mineral oils, not that vegetable oil is recommended for use with a condom (Brandye please correct me if I am misunderstanding you).
Yes Tjdude - it is safe to use vaseline as a lubricant if you are not going to use a condom.
