LOVE is in the air... Now what?

Whether it is because Valentine's Day is just days away, or, that love is in the air any day, I believe it is important to mention, again, how very important it is to affirm and confirm the love between a man and a woman.

Greeting cards continue to be the standard for expressing what is in the heart, yet, they tend to be expensive, difficult to find with the right sentiments, and, they can sometimes be blase'. Gone are the days when a man sung love songs to his girl while standing in front of her window, on the porch swing, or while walking along the park trail.

I wish to take a moment and give each of you guys a wakeup call so that you can use the time between now and February 14, or just any day of importance to think how you can make it special and memorable for her and as a result--you.

Begin here:
* buy a bouquet that includes at least one of her favorite flowers
* if you have some extra money, find a florist who specializes in "high style" arrangements and have them design an arrangement just for her
* if at all possible deliver the bouquet in person

* include a personal note

* on or just prior to the special day, send her one or more video clips that call attention to the love you share and the relationship you are building--or, the relationship you are carefully maintaining..Examples:

Send an E-mail. Depending upon how far your relationship has progressed, one example designed to call attention to the love that is in the air might be:

"If I supply the balls, when would you like to play, again?"

(Do not send the link--send the image!)

The message is innocent yet very suggestive.

For Valentine's, make reservations at a nice restaurant. Make arrangements to have your bouquet and personal note on your table when you arrive.

If you have an MP3 player with earbuds, record your favorite song for her to listen to when you walk from the restaurant's waiting area to your table. An alternate would be to record a song that expresses your feelings.

My thanks to Sera300 for the inspiration. I have and will continue to do this. It works. Guys, you can do this; and, you should! Use a little imagination along with a dash of creativity and you will have done much to make occasion a memorable one. You will have endeared yourself to her and as a result be ever gentle on her mind.

Do you and yours have a special day to celebrate, soon?
Do you and yours have special plans for Valentine's Day?

If so, what? Inquisitive minds want to know. Inquisitive minds need your ideas.

My take on Valentine's Day is a bit different, dancingdoc. For this is the day when men get to be MEN! Come on guys, let it all hang out! Dance with her in the kitchen when she's making dinner! Mess up her hair and mess up the bed! Dance naked just out her reach saying nyah nyah! Whatever! Make it fun, make it "all-man", and make her grin that grin - you know the one - half laughing and half ruefully shaking her head because men are such exasperatingly adorable people!

You KNOW you want to!

Wrap those big strong arms around her and give her a kiss that blasts her past Jupiter! Yeeeehaw!

Ahh, Valentine's Day. So much more fun than Singles' Awareness Day. Now what? Now I go take my horse on a long ride, spoil him rotten, and wear myself out at the gym. Either that or get drunk, but the former's more productive.

Maybe we can all send each other love notes, after the few drinks, LOL!

yep, valentines day is one of those days i when i actually wish i drank. or smoked. or something!

i'll probably request a long work shift so i can come home and pass out.
Hey...stupid question but heres the problem. My 1 year, valentines day, and my girls 18 birthday all fall pretty much within a two week time frame. Is there anything wrong with not doing anything too major for v day or something...I bought her a diamond promise ring for our 1 year...and IDK what to get...or what I can afford more a less :(
Flowers...

I'll probably be drinking alone with sera as well this year... Cheers!

I've used http://www.messageinabottle.com/ with some very exciting results!! LOL

Singles' Awareness Day?
With all of those people out there, you're alone?

that should certainly make them more interesting, if harder to read!

Hey Sera, will you be my Valentine? :D

Jeez! There are LOTs of single people out there. Pick one and take him/her home!

Ducy! Diamonds after only 1 year? You're setting the bar too high too early, dude! Now you're down to roses and a box of chocolates.

BTW my actual birthday is St. Valentine's Day. (fitting, no?) So I always have a good time! Suitable gifts for twice evil kittens include - cards, chocolates, Lamborghinis, single malts, champers, diamonds, emeralds, kisses, and dancing around in the kitchen while I'm trying to make dinner because we can never get reservations and the restaurants are too crowded anyway, huge bear hugs, a cake brought in with the song sung off-key, having my hair ruffled - you get the idea I'm sure.

Sera - pack the dogs into the car and come south, hun! I have a lovely teddybear who'd adore meeting you!

Hey hey hey I kept the bar somewhat low...there not flawless (although you still cant see flaws unless you got a magnifying glass) and theyre nothin major haha...just tiny.

> Sera - pack the dogs into the car and come south, hun! I have a lovely teddybear who'd adore meeting you!

EEK, I'd like her to visit the left coast. "Go west, young woman--go west", and, we have the wines, and vineyards just a few miles from here. Besides, I miss my two Maltese. While I ruffle the hair on her dogs, perhaps we can work on finding her a "valley guy".

(Yikes, two plays on famous expressions in one post may be over doing it. I'm outa here.)

We have vineyards too, ya know! And I'm closer! Arm wrestle you for her, dancingdoc!!

Maybe have to take you both up on the offers! I need a cat sitter and she also does "home stays" while I do travel and handles all well! She is great with the house, cleaning it up, and care for the pets is her primary focus...she has a wonderful side business! The best part? She is part my family through marriage so I trust her with all! :)
FYI: IV is now pulled one follow up with the Neurologist! Yeah and energy is abounding!

Excellent, Sera!! Hurray! Go, Sera, GO!!

What about we meet in Branson? This is supposedly the center of the U.S.

NoVA?

Good luck Sera!
NoVA?

Good luck Sera!
I travel whenever as long as it's FAR from the NYS boundary!

Justa (yeah yeah suck it up hun) Sera knows where NoVA is.
Justa (yeah yeah suck it up hun) Sera knows where NoVA is.
Yeah...been all over the place. Planes work miracles!

Oh no, that's not what I meant- I was asking you, EEK, if you were located near NoVA. I would hardly presume that Sera didn't know where that was!

And if you are going to call me "Justa" I'm going to be calling you Kittycat. Just because. :D

Actually BadCat would be a better interpretation. Kittycat isn't a good name for me at all and yes, there are reasons for it. I just shortened your handle. IF you did the same it would be Evil or EEK.
Yes, I'm in NoVA.

Hell, I don't particularly care what you call me; there are certain things I don't respond to, but I'm pretty flexible. I generally end up thinking of you as EEK anyway (in the sense of "Eek! It's EEK, Run and hide!" because you have that air about you- I mean that complementarily!)

Sorry to interrupt, but I hate having my handle shortened, or my name for that matter...

*evil grin* Okay V, I'll try to remember that.

Of course, Justa hun! That is why I picked this handle! It goes nicely with the attitude.

Cheers to all you singles drinking the night away here on Valenitine's Day! You know who you are...

And what the hell is NoVA?! Nova Scotia? Northern Virginia? New Orleans Valley? Is there some sort of exclusive club you have to be in to know these random acronyms?

Yes, Oedi, you DO have to be a member of an exclusive club.

Northern Virginia. People like to pretend that you have to be part of an exclusive club since it tends to be a rather upscale area, but they let me in all right. :D

Justa- that only proves the point!

Thanks Oedi! JD and I had a great night--kidding! Hope your date went well--hey, to think about it, you stood me up [JK]! Hope you had fun and a nice Valentine's day and perhaps it will lead to a new lady in your life [a decent one]!:)

Well that's good. Bourbon is delicious...

Hey, I didn't stand you up - I was here! Fairly late but still. I didn't see you posting anything!

Yeah, I had a nice night. Drank Pina Coladas, played a little bit of strip poker and watched The Wedding Singer. Good fun...

Glad you had a good time!

Doc lives near Napa?

I'm jealous!
