Lasting effects of Anal Sex

My wife and I have talked about and explored anal sex together..... we were wondering if there were any lasting ill effects of actual penial penetration.....

OK, I get flamed every time I answer this question. If you look around you will find many threads on anal sex. Here goes.

The anus is a one-way valve designed to allow stuff to move outwards. The vagina is designed to allow things (penis) in and out (babies). Therefore the muscles around the vaginal entrance are designed to allow a head to pass. Not so the anal sphincters. The vaginal lining is forty cells thick; the rectum, one cell thick. The rectum will not stretch as the vagina does. The friction is reduced in the vagina by natural lubrication and the mucous membrane handles this well. The lining of the rectum is not designed to handle thrusting.

At least initially there will minor but profuse tearing of the exit from the rectum. There may or may not be bleeding. Over the long term (think age 60, not thirty) you can expect hemorrhoids and weakened bowel control.

Now, having said that I am aware some people enjoy it and will engage in anal sex. Please use a condom. Ignoring STDs, the chances of infection in both partners are high. Most male urethritis and prostatitis invvolves enterobacteria (they belong in the intestines) that have migrated somehow - dirty underwear, inadequate wiping. In anal sex, those bacteria and the meium in which they live is pressed into the males urethral opening. The "receiver" (woman or another man) has the tears around the anus that can become infected. The stuff that is passing outward through those tears is haardly surgically clean.

Ok folks, flame me again.

*shrug* I had a baby. That gave me hemorrhoids. I was 17. I'm pretty sure the baby came out my vagina. I could be wrong, though, I was really enjoying the epidural. The 'rhoids came before the baby, though, I was about 7 months along.

Since then, I've had... not a lot of anal sex, but a bit. The nasty little annoyances haven't come back though.

I will say that you should wear a condom because of infection, as Brandye says. even if you use an enema, there is still bacteria on both the penis and the anal and rectal region that should not be introduced to eachother.

However, I love anal. Especially if I get to use a toy during it.

I agree that anus is not meant for sex. That said, I still enjoy it - and enjoy it very much. There are ways to reduce possibility of damage: use plenty of lubrication to compensate for the lack of it in rectum. Also, use a condom. Don't do it often, make it very rare yet enjoyable thing. There shouldn't be something wrong if you do this and the "reciever" becomes relaxed enough while the giver is careful, emphatic and listens to the partner.

well i mysteriously got inner hemmoriods after my first anal experience. Even my dr agrred thats probably the cause. But it went away in a few weeks. I have only done anal maybe 4 or 5 times in the past yr and a half. But since i havent had any problems "back there" lol

just take precautions and dont do it every time. :D It will all go well. Oh, and the male must take control over himself... just an advice

If you really care about your wife take this SMALL bit of advice..

go easy on your wife..she's probably nervous and the last thing you need to do is screw it up the first time but slamming it into her..act like your an extremely caring guy and having anal is like have sex with a virgin take care..be safe..and in this case use a good amount of lube so she's comfortable.

wait i'm editing and I realized after re-reading what you wrote you've already had anal sex. so all I can say is, is that if you actually were like my advice before..there shouldn't be..BUT if you rammed it in her..and she feels discomfort after several days..she really may need to see a doctor.

Hemorroids, an inability to control bowel movements because of torn or disabled sphincter, if done frequently enough - the tearing which occurs in the tissues can lead to leaking from the bowels into her abdomin.

I ask you, is it worth it?
Would you care to reverse the position and it be you receiving anal fom her with a penis-sized strap-on?

I sure wouldnt mind it. I see nothing wrong with anal, especialy for a guy seeing as we have a prostate which enhances the O greatly. Its well worth the effort to reverse the position :).
