My girlfriend is worried. She is lactating and shes not sure why? we are sexually active, but we're not sure if she is pregnant, do women only lactate when they are pregnant? or can it be from stress or something else with hormones. I t just doesnt make sense for a female to lactate before she actually has the baby...it serves no purpose to aiding the baby...Thank you for your responses! :0)

Read my above reply. The most common cause is pregnancy. There could be other causes. Either way, she needs to have it checked out.
No, sexual excitement will not do it.
But does lactating always mean pregnancy? might it be stress, or something else? Like you said the hormones but be hyperactive, or hypoactive...could that be from sexual stimulation?

Women lactate when the mix of hormones in their bodies turn on the milk production. Pregnancy is the obvious cause of this. Some women do have spotty lactation during pregnancy. If she is lactating, thee has been some change in her hormone levels and this needs to be determined. If she is pregnant, she needs pre-natal care; if she is not pregnant, she needs some other care.
Get to a doctor.
