I'm a 19 year old female and have been with my boyfriend for almost 3 years now. We have a great relationship and I couldn't be happier. I have been having quite a bit of soreness in my jaw muscles, specifically my temporomandibular joints. I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed over a year ago and at the time had some soreness. My dental surgeon said they felt tense and gave me some kind of injection during the procedure to make them feel better for the short-term. I can deal with the discomfort it doesn't interfere with my life or anything but the real problem is with my sex life. I can no longer give my boyfriend blowjobs like I did before. My jaw just doesn't seem to open as wide and although I can still take his penis into my mouth it begins to hurt after a very short time. So my question is have any of you ever heard of this? Also, I don't know who I would go to for help! It doesn't really interfere with my life aside from a little pain and being unable to orally please my partner. I would not feel comfortable discussing this with my dentist since he has known me since I was a child and due to dental not being covered in Canada I cannot really go to another dentist while being under my parents coverage. Any thoughts or advice appreciated!

Jaw Pain

Which hurts more - the pain or talking frankly and honestly with your dentist. He's NOT going to tell your parents - he'd a medical person and cannot, by law, violate that rule. So, does being able to give oral mean all that much to you or does it NOT?
For some reason some people think that they must open their mouth widely. Dropping the jaw down and holding it becomes tiring quickly and can possibly make the mouth sore. If this is what is happening to you, try this....
Moisten your lips, wrap them over you teeth so as not to scrape his skin, then drop your jaw just enough to be comfortable and to let his penis slip in between your lips. He can slip and slide in and out and around, and you can use your tongue to best advantage on this Glans and Frenulum.
Get a referral back to the oral surgeon who removed your wisdom teeth. Explain loss of range of motion and pain. Either he can fix it or refer you to a maxillofacial surgeon who will lay out your options. In the meantime read Doc's response, though I doubt he has given many blowjobs! Perhaps adjusting your technique will fix everything.
Ditto to all posted & have you ever sought to be evaluated for TMJ?
