Last week my mum sent me a link to a news story about IBC, Inflammatory Breast Cancer, which the article describes as "the most aggresive form of breast cancer." The story is over a year old, and it does point out that IBC is very rare, but I had never heard of it, so I'm guessing that there are many others out there that are unaware of it. I just wanted to pass the information along because I was really surprised when I read it, especially because there is rarely a lump in your breast if you have it.
There is also a lot of information to be found if you google it.

Thanks for the link!
One thing comes to mind when I did the search on the Net, many women do not examine their bodies regularly. It's imperative to know what the tissue on your ENTIRE body looks and feels like. Is it soft and supple? Lumps? Tender? Redness, Swelling? Unusual bruising, bruising which does not heal? Unknown or questionable bug bites which do not resolve in a day or two? Any changes in a small area of skin texture? Discoloration of the tissue? You need to see a doctor. If it's not clearing, go to a dermatologist or a surgeon qualified to examine the particular body part. Sampling of tissue is important.
So often there are posts from ladies & men on here who have no idea of what their body DOES look like...you are the best indicator, and never be afraid to speak up. A patient who says "This does not look right" or "There is something wrong" is generally correct. Do not be afraid to ask or to question a doctor or health care provider, be assertive.
" It was slightly enlarged and her nipple was inverted -classic IBC symptoms."
My nipple goes "inside out" sometimes, it has ever since I first grew boobs. Never thought about it because it seemed normal to me, although not to other girls. My partner finds it amusing when he makes my nipples hard and they go inside out and has fun playing with them
Should I see a doctor or something you think? I mean I have no other symptoms and its always been like this.
I have no idea. I'm not an expert, but I just wanted to pass the information along.
I mean, I'd say if you've always been that way, then that's just what's normal for you. But again, I'm not qualified to answer that...
Inverted nipples are not real uncommon. That is just one possible indicator of IBC. If you are having regular checks and examine yourself regularly, not likely a symptom.
I have a sticky on self-exam. One fo the reasons it is such a good idea is that IBC is very fast growing and between annual exams could be out of control.
Alrighty, thanks Brandye!
