Infection

I had a termination and the doctors thought that I had an infection, I passed out a few times and the doctors are now running tests on heart and brain etc...
But now my boyfriend has passed out a couple of times and I am wondering if there was anyway that the infection may have passed onto him and made him pass out?

[quote=LoveGems;184896]Well they thought I had an infection so they gave me medication for it, but we did have sex whilst I was on the mediction. They later found out that I either didn't have an infection or it had all cleared up and are now believing it is something else.

You can pass the bacteria on to him, so he should be checked. Generally he would have symptoms...painful unrination, fever, or penile discharge. Syncope, not a symptom for him.

No he doesn't have any of them symtoms, so you think that there is no relation between him passing out and a possible infection.

Your symptoms should have no bearing on him. Post TOP, the common cause of syncope is blood loss. If you had an infection it's easily detected. Post TOP there is a waiting period before you resume intercourse. If you in fact do have an infection, had intercourse, he needs to be checked. I doubt the two are related.

Could exhaustion be what causes passing out, because he has recently gone from having lots of sleep to then working 45 hours a week.

Its only happened a couple of times, and doctors did a blood test and found nothing wrong...i'm confused.

You had a termination. There is reason to suspect an infection. You get that checked out and get fixed.

Your b/f has passed out. There are dozens of potential reasons and he should be checked out. There is little reason to believe that there is any connection between your two conditions but you each have reason for concern - separately - and then deal with the rest.

Thanks Brandye.
I did get checked but they seemed to think it wasn't an infection it ended up being an incomplete TOP.

But with him they found nothing wrong, as long as I know that its not because of me that he has passed out then it makes me feel a little better, but still worried.

OK, you each did what was indicated. Just update your contraception and get on with your lives.
