After falling on my groin, right side of my pelvis, and thigh I had an unbearable pain in my right testicle for the next few months. There was a constant throbbing that consumed me every where I went, and became progressively worse when working or active. In addition, there was some tension along the right side of my penis (more noticeable when hard) like I had bothered a ligament there. I went to the doctor twice, and even got an ultra sound. They ruled out everything such as a torsion. They couldn't offer much for solutions besides Tylenol or Ibuprofen. I lived with it until...
It became so bad I didn't even feel like walking. A couple of days ago at the drug store decided to pick up some Icy Hot, with the intention to rub only on my groin and pubic bone. I knew that it was going to burn a lot, but decided to tough it out. When I began to rub it there, I instantly felt the soothing sensation, one thing led to another, and before I knew it I had it on my hurt testicle, and along the right side of my penis. May have also gotten some in the urethra, everything is so close. Of course this wasn't as comforting, so I quickly began to rinse it off in the bathtub. The Icy Hot sensation went away, and I went to sleep.
The next morning, believe it or not my past symptoms- The tightness in the testicle, and all the pain were gone! Felt great until I realized now my genitals just don't seem normal. It almost feels like the Icy Hot numbed everything down there permanently, and did something to my urethra. I'm worried about not being able to sexually stimulate, and feel my erections. In retrospect, I don't think it was very smart to mess with this stuff, and I should have especially been careful to not get it in any mucous membranes like the bottle said. I think I was in a better situation just dealing with the pain. Any thoughts on what might have happened? Should I be worried about this?

Nice troll man.
If you smashed your groin like that you could have ruptured a testicle and should be in a hospital. And one aplication of linament would be very unlikely to permanantly halt sensation.
Just for the kids at home, dont be putting icyhot on your junk.
omg i heard that shit burns!! lol sorry dude....
Go visit an Urologist! I had a problem with pain and swelling of my right testicle, after a couple of ultrasounds it turned out that I had Epdimitis, the Urologist was able to give me some pills that really helped.
I was thinking along those lines because there is a cyst in there (that I can feel and was informed of) about the size of a pea, but they said that I was born with it and that wasn't causing the pain (I was convinced it was). I can't easily go get medical care because I'm not on insurance, two visits ran me $1500 and they didn't do anything for me.
But like I said, the pain seems to be gone, Icy Hot seemed to do that job. But stupid me, I didn't realize how serious it could be when applied there. My new problem is my genitals feel extra soft and hot down there like I lost some sensitivity and there's discomfort in the urethra. But like Simple said, that it's unlikely that can happen from throwing on a little bit of Icy Hot. Maybe I'm a bit of a hypochondriac when it comes to my boys.
I can't see how Icy Hot should affect you so many hours after application. It also seems rather odd that one simple application of Icy Hot should undo months of testicular pain. I'm wondering if your brain is over suggestive and because you focused on the pain in the first place, your mind magnified it's intensity. Once you applied the Icy Hot, you believed the pain would ease and so it did. The same is most likely with the numbness, once you find something to distract your mind, the numbness will probably disappear in it's own time.
Thanks for the input!
Take it from a guy who ignored his pain for a few hours and when I went to the emergency room, I found out I would soon pull a Lance Armstrong.
Go see your Urologist ASAP!!!!
Thanks to me waiting 6 hours, I ended up losing my right testicle. Of course I didn't have both tubes, so it wasn't entirely my fault.

Yes, my ex only has testicle due to injury but as the OP did say the pain went away after application of the liniment, I believe in his case it is mind over matter. However if you are concerned then of course get another medical opinion.
I'm real sorry to hear that, my sympathies. I had that worry about torsion, which lead me to go to urgent care (not an actual urologist). They just told me to wear a jock strap, do lots of stretching, see if it went away, but it didn't. Not once did a doctor suggest Icy Hot, but for some reason I had that bright idea. Believe it or not I do actually no longer feel the pain, but I'm worried that if it really was meant to work like that, why is it not a prevalent treatment?
Analgesic balm is for MUSCLE pain only. Never get it close to anything sensitive.
Do you know what some consequences might be from this?
Any damage will be mostly in the skin. Both the skin of the penis and of the scrotum is less hardy than most of the body. And they each have lots of nerve endings. These nerves would be "burned" and desensitized for a time. It is doubtful that any damage would be done to the testicles. Analgesic balm, again, is for muscle pain and should never be applies around particularly sensitive tissue - eyes, groin, rear.
Women, do not even ask. It hurts to think about it.
But.....but.....it has anal in the name?
Well, fun, you can gesic your anal; I'll just watch.
All right, so it could be that I permanently desensitized my penis?
No. It will come back - very slowly.
It's been a week and still doesn't feel normal. How could I have done such an idiot thing? At a Halloween party with all kinds of girls in hot costumes, I couldn't feel a thing down there. Is there any fast treatment?
The nerves are about the slowest growing tissue in the body. The damage was likely mostly surface and will be replaced as the epidermis sloughs off - as I explained in the PM. Patience.
All right. Another thing is when my testicle was hurting it felt like it was tight against my body. Since I did this, it feels like it is hanging really low.
Without an exa, no further medical advice is possible. The net is not a substitute for a doctor's visit.
DUDE !!!! OMG why??? you know they quit blood letting for a reason if a person does not feel well around the turn of the century also so I would caution you AGAINST that too !!
The only thing you did was to take the focus off you injured testical to the surface skin by chemical burning yourself. Just OUCH man, oh and not everything a doctor says to try is the right cure either, that is why they call it "Praticing Medical Science" it is not a perfect science. I have found from sky diving the HARD way the only cure for an injury to your man hood is time, get our junk caught on the wrong side of the harness straps it is quite "enlighting". While laying on the ground in the first minutes after the harness malfunction if someone would have shot me it would have been thankfull. I thankfully have done this once only but it took like 3 months to get over and be able to work out, carry weight, and have sex with no ill effects. All guys will sooner or later injury themselves in some form reguarding thier genitals you can set on your buttox throgh your life and will it away living causes experiences not all will be enjoyable.
Well the pain went away, but everything now feels soft and pretty much useless down there.
What do you mean by "everything"?
What do you mean by "useless"?
I have to work extra hard to get an erection and can't feel it.
See a doctor and or forget it. This no place to get continuing medical advice
Be nice, it's a forum.

EXACTLY..... It isn't a medical clinic.
Go to a doctor where they can see what your problem is
Fine Fine. I'm sorry.
