And even though their language has been fairly generic, I am willing to bet both of them utilize the Queen's English more than any of us here in the Colonies (or you in Mexico). BTW, have any Spanishisms crept into your everyday conversations?
There are certain things that can only be said in Spanish. In fact there are certain things that are best said in Mexican Spanish. It is very interesting to me to listen to the different dialects of Spanglish that are spoken in the American southwest. I do not speak the southwestern Spanglish, but I understand it. Americans (and Brits and Canadians) here who have become aculturated all use our own brand of Spanglish-again because sometimes there are concepts that mere English or mere Spanish do not express.
This is one of the few threads I am happy to see hijacked. I'm surprised a mod didn't shut it down in its infancy. Maybe they are glad that it went in a different direction.
