This is my first post. Frankly, I didn't know where else to turn. I'm a 23 year old, almost 24. I've had sex many, many times, but the catch is that I never wanted to and never really enjoyed it. I had just assumed that it was expected that people my age were supposed to have sex, so I did. But never did I really experience anything close to gratification. Also, it was almost drunk sex... I went to great pains to avoid putting myself in sober situations where I'd have to have sex.
I just had no sex drive. At all. I'd never had one, even after puberty. That in itself was pretty scary. But I just assumed that I was a quintessential "late bloomer" and that by the age of 18 or at the latest 20, I'd have the urge to have sex. But I never did. I went to the doctor to see if something was out of whack with my hormones, but the doctor told me I was fine. I finally came to the conclusion that I was either a) gay and desperately trying to hide it from myself or b) that I was asexual.
About three months ago, I started wanting to have sex for the first time. Every day, my sex drive would get stronger and stronger to the point where it was probably "normal" for a 23 year old male. Now? I think I've reached a plateau. But I want to have sex all the time. My body feels like it's been injected with surplus testosterone or something (and no, I don't do steroids or anything else that would artificially boost my testosterone levels). I am FREAKED out. When you live your whole life without a sex drive and then suddenly you have one (and it's strong)... well, it's enough to freak a guy out. This isn't a physical problem: another trip to the doctor showed me that everything appeared fine hormonally. So I don't know what to think about this. I'm extremely confused, and I'm unsure what to do now. Actually that's a lie; I want to have sex. But I've never had sex with a sex drive before. I honestly feel like a virgin.
Has anybody out there had any experiences remotely like mine? Please say yes...
Actually yes i had the same problem until this year. I am almost 20 and I had no sex drive and had never had it until about 3 months ago. There was a peer of mine who from the first time being around me had me sexually aroused and i didnt understand it because i had never been turned on before. But it took me two months before i actually did anything about it. And now im almost always aroused. lol. Anyways friends with benefits doesnt work, so... Its just a psychological thing. I had to figure out what triggers my arousals and then train myself to stay away from thinking about it or anything else to keep from staying aroused. Because i went to a doctor alsoand i was told i was physically alright.
