What part of the vagina are you referring to? The vaginal vault is soft, although the neck of the Cervix within is hard.

The clitoris is the female equivalent of the penis, albeit in miniature. The two share a common origin. The "Tip" of the clitoris is the same as the Glans of the penis with the exception of an opening for the urethra that is routed separately. The shaft is buried beneath a layer of skin between the folds of the upper Vulva. Even so, it reacts to being stroked just like the larger male equivalent. The Tip is vastly more sensitive than the Glans because all those sensitive nerve endings are spaced much more closely together. The average size of the Tip is about that of a pencil eraser; although sizes can and do vary.

Please clarify what "what" feels like..... Do you mean her genitals or the sensations and feelings she is experiencing from your caresses?

If you mean her Vulva and associated pieces-parts, then much of what is felt by each of you depends upon clothing and the angle of her body and whether her legs are together or not, etc., et cetera, etc.

Can you feel a clitoris through clothing? Probably not because it is shielded by the Labia. Does this mean you cannot fiddle with it? Not at all. The clitoris is very responsive to being touched indirectly, often through the Labia Minora and other nearby structures.

The Tip is has a firm feeling to it when touched, much like the Glans. When a woman is very aroused, it will tend to retract or hide under the hood. Regardless, the structure does become erect, although this is mostly all under the skin.

As for what sensations she will feel by rubbing her genitals through clothing vs directly, is hard to answer. This depends upon what clothing is being warn and what you are actually rubbing and where. It is unlikely that you are actually touching her clitoris through her clothing as noted, above. Suffice it to say it is all probably pretty darn good judging from your girlfriend's reaction.

If you are trying to locate the clitoris straight on, then take two fingers, one on each side of one of the inner lips {Labia Minora), and trace along to the top juncture of the two. The Clitoris can be found right there just below the point where the two meet.
