I have been fingering my girlfriend for a while now and we have come across a slight problem which we think could be due to her hymen. She says she has never experienced bleeding (other than her period) or anything after having fingered her or at any point in her life; she also has never used tampons so this could perhaps add to the fact that her hymen could still be intact? Sometimes my finger won't be able to go in because it feels uncomfortable or sometimes painful so we stop. I can only finger her on ocassions when it doesn't feel uncomfortable. As far as I can see there is a small blockage which I believe is her unbroken hymen. Am i right? Would you consider this to be a hymen that is still intact? If so; how can we overcome this problem?
Please reply a.s.a.p,
Thankyou :)
P.s I am never ever rough with her, if I was i wouldn't be writing this thread! If she says it hurts, I stop straight away so please don't think I am rough! Thankyouuuu.

The hymen is normally a very thin annular (think an American donut) that is attached to the vaginal entrance all around the edge. Sometimes the opening is irregular or even two perforations instead of the usual single perforation. In rare instances there is no perforation but if this were the case, she would have had to have it opened to allow menstrual flow.
In some women the hymen is particularly thick or strong. Sometimes this requires medical attention to allow intercourse or penetration with other objects - such as fingers. Usually this is a quite minor procedure but a big help.
All women should have a gyn exam before becoming sexually active. It would be recommended and she should tell the doctor that there is some difficulty. There are other possibilities than the hymen but this is the most common.
In short, there is nothing YOU can do; she can consult with someone who knows what she is looking at and for.
