Ok, so me and my girlfriend have been having sex for awhile, but for some reason a couple of weeks ago we were having sex and after I finished she looked at me and said I had a huge rash. I got up and when I looked in the mirror my chest, neck, and the top of my arms were all red. It was like that about 3 or 4 times after that too. I couldn't feel it or anything, just felt like I was warm, it doesn't happen anymore, I was just wondering what that could have been.

Huge rash...

Maybe you are allergic to the condoms you were using OR maybe your girlfriend uses products or washing detergent you are allergic to.
The only problem with that is that we didn't do anything different those 4 or 5 times... and it was only after sex, not before while we fool around or anything. And if I didn't finish, then it didn't happen. It only happened right around when I was going to orgasm. She hasn't changed any products or anything that she uses. Oh well, I guess I'm just weird.

I"m pretty sure that is normal. I've seen this on the upper chest of women the further the sex goes on...there is a name for this but it eludes me at this time. I'm sure Doc,Sera or Brandye will have the proper name for it. I remember reading about it in a Masters and Johnson book while I was at university about 30 yrs ago!!...that was all the "help" we could get back then! ROFLMAO
I only know it as the "sex flush"! I forgot the old term for it! 75% of the cases are women; 25% men.
Interesting... I wonder what makes it happen...
I believe it's a histamine reaction (IGE) and vasocongestion & vasodilation. Don't quote me on it...

Thats the one...I'm quite sure! I was thinking thrush but that had lots of nasty details so i knew that wasn't it...LOL

Not thrush!!! That's from yeast!

Anyway you can explain that part in english?
I know the "sex flush" is caused by vasocongestion; meaning increased blood flow. During the sex response, your blood vessels constrict and later they dilate (vasodilation). Some people get the rash which is "blotchy" or patches of redness. Many times it's noticeable in women in their face, neck, and chest. Also, some people will complain of a mild headache afterwards [blood vessels dilating].
I believe, I don't recall 100%, way back in anatomy and physiology or human sexuality it was linked [the flush] to part of an immune response; meaning your body produces certain chemicals and in these individuals there was histamine being released into the body. Histamine is produced when you are introduced to an allergen such as during a bee sting. Why does this tid bit stick in my mind? I thought it was odd since it equated a sex flush being similar to an allergy.
It was Masters and Johnson who equated histamine release to the "sex-flush".
Oh, that makes a lot more sense, thanks. That sucks though... it won't harm you if it happens a lot will it? It's never hurt or made me get a headache.
No...it will not hurt you!
