HPV Vaccine

This affects both men and women but this article is focused on men. I remember seeing this topic discussed on a medical show we have here in America called "The Doctors" and they discussed whether or not boys/men should get the vaccine.

Here is an article I found on this topic
[url=http://www.cnn.com/2011/HEALTH/02/02/hpv.vaccine.men.health/index.html]HPV vaccine effective in men - CNN.com

It states that risks for receiving genital warts and cancers such as throat, penile, and anal are lowered when getting the vaccine. I'm not sure why there is a debate about boys/men getting the HPV vaccine because it offers two positives. First protecting men from these diseases and second possibly giving girls protection from HPV which can lead to cervical cancer if they have not taken gardasil. It seems that it would be best for all sexually active boys and girls to take this vaccine just like many others.

Within the med profession this info is still being digested and no guidelines have been developed. It is certainly worth discussing with your doctor.

For women, it is administered to quite young, non-active women. Guidelines for men may be developed similarly or quite differently.

Tell us when you do, trio, and what regimen the doctor uses.

Is there any proof that this vaccine could wear off Brandye? I have heard talks about possibly wearing off in 5 years.

In my experience my doctor is using the same guidelines for females with males. So far I have received 2 out of 3 shots,my last one this January. After I got the first shot I had to wait 1-2 months for the second and then 4months for the final one.

I have seen nothing beyond the question of whether or not booster shots will be required. Too soon to tell. Those involved are certainly tracking it well.

Your doctor seems wise to use the same guidelines and, again, I have seen nothing further.

Well I just got my final shot today and I was curious if there was any new info about the vaccine wearing off. Do any vaccines wear off?

Many vaccines do "wear off" and "booster shots" are required. Thin of the common tetanus. Gardasil, and similar, HPV vaccines are too new for us to really know. Check with your doctor in five years or so.
