Hmmm....well, back when I was a callow 21 year old youth, the occasional 2-3 hour single-handed session - along with a plentiful supply of Playboy/Penthouse etc - wasn't just a treat on my birthday. Cut to 15 years later and a different hand on matters, I might not be inclined to go on for so long, but the frequency hasn't diminished.
Not sure. 5 minutes is too short - this is SEX, people, it's supposed to last!! - and over an hour would be optimistic. About 20 minutes is reasonable enough for both parties to be satisified, I'd think. More on weekends, though!
I agree with most here that the duration isn't as important as the quality, but I still think 5 minutes or less is a sign that you're placing too little emphasis on one of life's greatest pleasures. You don't wolf down a big, juicy steak in under 5 minutes, do you?
The only merit I could foresee in an under 5 minute session is if the guy is absolutely gagging for it, she doesn't particlarly need it, but kindly let's him release himself. I just feel you're cheating yourself otherwise.

first i wanted to address rawbob's last statement. For some reason i always feel like going at it (as in either simply more foreplay, or more sex), but she seems to lose interest after i eat her out. Or when refering just to intercourse, for a long time ago i was having trouble orgasming, so we'd go at it for a long time. i think the longest we went was about an hour and a half before i had to just stop and say forget it. More commonly, we generally start out slow and work our way up to what makes me feel good, so it goes between ten and thirty minutes. if it's been a long night of foreplay concentrating more on her and she feels obligated to get me to orgasm, i can pump it out in about five minutes, but those real quickies (30 seconds or whatever) never happen, and sometimes we wish that wasn't the case. so yeah, that's a nice estimate of how long it takes me.
