how can I talk to an orphan about sex?

Hi, I'm an orphan caretaker and there's an orphan here that has been here since he was 10 months old. He has loads of medical issues, he's now 13 and is interested in girls. It's an all boy orphanage and he's barely ever seen a girl and hasn't seen one his own age. How do I go about talking to him about sex? I don't want to end up doing something stupid once he starts puberty, which he hasn't yet. He's the oldest here and I just don't know how to handle a teenager who's interested in sex yet doesn't know much about girls or sex. What should I do?

If you have established a bond with this person; they will listen to a degree. Drawn upon your resources first talk to the case worker/social worker/nursing staff for their expertise of how do YOU best approach the matter--do not do it directly without them backing you up. You do not want to break the bond BUT realize as part of the patient care plan this is built in--sex education. However, nursing & case workers will have a more generic & sterile approach. You need to use them to facilitate such discussion--allow them to guide you for a more tailored & personal approach.

Thank you for the question. A similar one was posted regarding girls a couple of days ago in which I replied that I hoped more people would ask.

Here is a website designed for pre- and teen boys that I like very much. It can help you and if he is permitted to read it when he has questions, it should also help him as well.
