hottub sex

Yes, if you are in water then water is in the vagina. If water killed sperm, then douching would prevent pregnancy--which it does not. In fact it helps facilitate the sperm reaching their destination.
Think about this--semen can withstand a freezing process for future donations! Also for those who ask if sperm die when exposed to air, think about all those sperm donors who ejaculate in a cup for donation purposes.
ok but what if the water is chlorinated (spelling)?
I would not count on it being correct. The only "usable" sperm killer is Nonoxyl-9. You are pushing the envelope as to what is safe to prevent a pregnancy, just do what is recommended!
The clorine would kill the sperm. The fact remains that a bare penis in a vagina can release sperm that could get through the cervical os. The chlorinated water is not a dependable spermicide. There are three commonly used spermicides in various vaginal products with Non-9 being the most common. None are chlorine. Chlorine is tough on mucous membrane - such as the eyes. The vagina is mucous membrane.
You are thinking very selfishly. If there is water in there, which there will be after separating the labia underwater, all the crap in the water is now inside her - bacteria, fungus, chlorine, whatever. She is not only at risk for pregnancy but also for the various infections associated with hotubs. And there are many. I would not get in one on a bet.
Im sorry if i sound selfish but this was only a one time thing... i hate hot tubs in the first place but it just got a little hot and heavy in there u konw? she is on depro and i have used a condom evey singe time we have ever had sex, and i believe i am using them correctly. i just needed something to help me relax and stop worring so much about pregnency. so im sorry if i sounded selfish. Thanks for the info

If she is on Depo then you have no concerns regarding pregnancy. Put your mind at ease and don't worry about it. Many times hot tubs are breeding grounds for nasty bacteria, they need to be sanitized and chlorinated on a very strict schedule! Unless it's you own tub and you follow the cleaning instructions think of how many other's might have been there doing the same as you, if not worse. Also, many people allow the maintenance of them slip! On top of that they are covered which is a dark, warm, moist environment for "germs" to grow!
yeah i get what your sayin. ok i need some info on the depro shot tho, she has been on it for over 6 months and she still has her period. it is verry light and sometimes it last 2 days or sometimes it lasts 2 weeks. and sometimes it will be there one min and gone the next than back just as fast? we cant figure it out seeing as her period is sposed to be gone... right? does she need to switch brands or does it take more time than this? i told her to talk to ther lady that gives her the shot next time but im realy curious. thanks alot for eveything :)

Generally break through bleeding does not happen but it can happen, it varies with the individual. It's not a period, it's just break through bleeding which is very unpredictable and erratic. The purpose of the depo is (in lay terms); it places the female body in a "dormant" state and ovulation is not happening. Most often bleeding stops all together but I would not be concerned about what she is experiencing as long as she has the injection on time (there is a 5 day window). Many times it takes longer then 2 cycles (6 months) of the injection to stabilize a body, and since she has only had two injections, it may still cease.
There is no other brand to change to unlike BCP's. To clarify the matter she should discuss it with the nurse who does the injections, they should be able to reiterate what I just told you. As long as she follows the time frames for getting the shot, I would not concern myself at all with it! It's unlike BCP's where you can skip a dose accidentally and have a problem, Depo is pretty reliable. I found them a good method for ensuring "no pregnancy", some women have difficulty adapting to the injection; however, if there are no issues/problems stick with it. I find it a good method if children are not planned/wanted for a substantial period of time.
One concern is; if you plan on children in the near future, it can take a year to return to a fertile state. And as soon as the injections are stopped she needs to begin a new BC method.
Additionally, the injection comes is prefilled syringes now. In the US, there is a shift to teaching patients to do their own. It takes the nurse a bit of time to demonstrate & teach proper injection technique, this will eliminate making an appointment every three months. Moreover, many insurance companies are denying the office visit if it's being used long-term since they believe a patient or s/o can perform the injection at home--similar to Insulin, Enbrel, and other injectable medications.
As far as the hot tub, many just have concerns for health issues. I observed the hot tub while staying in Puerto Rico at the Ritz. I was appalled at the lack of cleanliness and maintenance (especially at this resort)! There were times it was very disgusting, kids swimming in it and I am certain voiding in it!
Kay, Thanks so much for the info and the tub was as clean as it could be b/c it is brand new and just got filled for the summer. thanks agin
ohh nooo you did not say "voiding" in there, whats worse is you cant tell like you can in a normal swiming pool since the water is already warm....
(bit of comic relief)

As I once viewed a sign posted "We do not swim in your toilet bowl so please do not pee in our pool"!
