Is honey safe to use during oral sex?

My boyfriend isn't the type to like the taste of pussy,I am clean but I guess he just doesn't really like the taste. So I was thinking maybe I can put a bit of honey on me (not inside) and he can lick it off...the honey would be typically around the top of my vulva and anal area. Is this safe? I see some stuff on the internet saying no it can cause yeast infections and some saying yes it's safe to use... Maybe I'll put a little on his dick as well. I DO have flavored lubricant but he doesn't like the taste of that either! lol (He's picky).

probably not worth it as you put yourself at risk to get a yeast infection from everything i've heard

Dear Cynhia,
There are way more bacteria in your mouth than down there. Perhaps tell your bf that :) So oral sex usually brings unwanted bacteria to that area, yet: nothing a healthy vagina won't be able to conquer. The vagina is used to getting attacked with unbalancing factors; semen, menstrual fluids. Usually it won't outbalance for long; it recovers. Sometimes, however, it takes too long and yeastinfection starts.

Adding sugar makes it a more difficult job for your vagina. As this is the "food" for yeast. So it is true that anything containing sugar can cause yeastinfections. Honey, however, is a very specific sort. It also works as an antiseptic. There even is a cure called "RevamilFem" that is used by women who suffer from yeastinfection, this product is in fact: 100% honey :) And it's a very pure kind! This product, however, is designed to lower PH of the vagina, in order to reestablish the natural PH and allow lactobacillicus to grow again (which is what you'd want when having a yeast infection, cause these good bacteria are probably too low in numbers. These lactobacillicus are there for the good! :))

But: I can imagine that in a healthy vagina, lowering PH would be undesirable... And so, although probably better substitute then other sugars, the use of honey could have undesirable effect... If I were you, I'd try to convince my bf once again that there's nothing icky about oral. And if you'd like to try honey, you could experiment a bit. Just be aware of anything changing; scent, structure and color of mucus, etc. I would advice you to not use it frequently... There is an often used homecure whenever the vagina becomes a bit outbalanced; a douche with one part vinegar to two parts warm water. You could use this after oral sessions.

No. Honey will almost guarantee a yeast infection. So with all sugary substances. And unpasteurized honey will bring the little fungi with it!

@Cynthia, go with Brandye's advice. She's an MD, so I'm really trusting her on this! I merely draw conclusions from gathered knowledge & facts, combined with personal experience and (gut)feeling. My advised "maybe" apparently should be a big "no". Ahhhh.... just learned something new today, always hungry for that! :)

@Brandye, just wondering: in your opinion, what is true about "RevamilFem"?

Tasting a person's vaginal mucus is an acquired taste. I recommend that your boyfriend understand this and learn to like the taste, if not actually love it as it is a part of you. Not to is akin to not committing totally to loving you.
