I'm a bit angry....

I just got an email that said.... "Gay Marriage: Give Your Opinion".

WHY??!! What if the email said... "Straight Marriage: Give Your Opinion"? Why is it the right of other people to decide what is good or right for someone else? Would the straight majority allow anyone to decide whether or not THEY had the right to love and marry someone?

As long as someone is not hurting anyone, I think people and more importantly the legal system and the government need to mind their own business!!

They're just pandering to their "religious right/moral majority"[sic] base, Sera. Most of them couldn't care less about gay issues. They just say what they think most of their supporters want to hear. Some of the RepubliCONs really scare me... I know it's not popular to say, but they really do remind me of the Nazis. What happened to the real Republicans of long ago??? The ones that really were for less government and staying out of people's personal lives??

Unfortanately, most of the Dems aren't any better. And the ones that are don't have a snowballs chance in hell of winning.

I think we are going to have H.C w/OB as VP then M.R. as the contender on the reverse. I do believe it will fall Democratic; I think it will be a very narrow margin though. So perhaps all may not be lost...

Sorry, Sera, I really do see some of the Republicans as "cons". Especially the present regime. I have a nightmare that come 2009 Dubya will still be in office as "President for Life". *shudder* I know, I know... That could never happen in the United State.... I'm sure they said the same thing in Germany in the 1930's.

My main problem is that I'm not sure how I'm going to vote. I'll probably vote my heart in the primary, but come November I'll probably have to vote for which ever Dem gets the ticket. I'd like to vote Independant, but I feel like that would just be throwing the election to the Republicans and I don't think I could survive another four years like this eight year run.

NY is a Democratic state. I don't like being "registered" w/any party; although, I am most identified w/republicans--small government and small governmental intervention. End. I believe in abortion, my right to bear a weapon, gay marriage, etc.

I cannot take another republican. I think Hillary & O.B as VP will rock the country from the ultraconservative shift. Swinging of the pendulum is a good thing....

All except the latter... I don't believe that they are true conservatives. True conservatives believe in less government and less spending. Just look at the mess they have made of the budget. They have given us a massive debt. It's ridiculous.

I'd say that I am a liberal... actually I took an on-line test recently that measured how liberal or conservative you are and it seems I'm more liberal than Hillary...LOL. Of course, that's because I'm gay. Anytime you are pro-gay issues you automatically become liberal.

I can agree with all of those. I AM in favor of gun control. I stress "control". I believe you have the right to arm yourself. However, I would prefer that you also NOT be a criminal or insane and that you know how to use whatever weapon you own. That doesn't seem overly restrictive to me.

Guess we're both odd.
