Well, i'm going out on a limb here .....as a gay man, i find it VERY SELFISH when a gay man identifies as a TOTAL BOTTOM ..unless he's monogamous wiht a TOTAL TOP..but to be honest.....why would anyone who's gay demand that THEY are the ones who enjoy the pure extacy of anal sex!

Flipping rocks...to be able to go from top to bottom is such a huge rush and turn on......i'm gonna get crap for this..but, its my opinion...i find most of the gay men round here...are bottoms because THEY want that pleasure all to themselves!

As I said earlier, it's not just a matter of preference but also practicality in my case, and many of the guys I've discussed it with who also consider themselves bottoms (very few use the term "total"). If you can't stay hard and perform as a top with a condom on then that's that. "Selfish" would be "screw it, we'll bareback so I can top".

Actually what I find more irksome than at least stating your preference are the many guys who claim to be "versatile", only to find they have issues with really identifying themselves as bottoms but that's all they want to do.

I know with some men they prefer penetration (giving) v. receiving; it's not an issue of domination or submission it's the sensation they would rather have.

The same hold true for those men who are straight; they want to do anal penetration to a woman since the feeling is "tighter" v. vaginal penetration yet they will not allow a female to engage in anal play/stimulation with them.

Amen. And not everyone enjoys both. Ironically, even though I do occasionally enjoy topping, my partner (who's the only one I could bareback with) doesn't enjoy it much, so it happens very rarely. In my neck of the woods it does seem to be weighted more heavily toward guys who bottom, while the majority of guys I talk to from South America or Italy all seem to be tops! Go figure.
