This may seem like a dumb question but:

How do gay guys typically have sex? Do most gay guys do anal? Are there gay guys that don't do anal? What do you do then, just give each other blow jobs? Do any of you have sex face to face?

Yeah, I know this seems dumb but there seems to be a stigma that anal is a must for gay guys but there are many people that are turned off by anything related to the butt.

None of the questions you ask are dumb. No question ever is if it's asked in earnest.

You're right about the public perception of gays and anal sex, but in actuality it's not the #1 activity (oral probably is). For me, I love anal . . . mostly receiving but also giving. My partner is lukewarm about it . . . . he'll "top" most of the time but isn't wild about "bottoming". And yes, there's definitely lots of guys who don't like anal sex either way. There are plenty of alternatives - oral, mutual masturbation, "frot". With any sexual partner I've been with I've never had problems finding a way to have fun, whether they like anal or not.

Oh, and face to face . . . there's the over the shoulder anal position that allows you to be face-to-face (or close enough!) and handjobs, frot, ect. Actually, we end up in this position more often than not.

I'll just add my two cents... which basically just backs up what DVDBear said.

I've met (gay) guys who don't like anal- either top or bottom- and some who only like one or the other. I think (at least it SEEMS this way...LOL) that I'm one of the few truly versatile gay men out here. I like both pretty much equally.

I will say that my pet peeve is gay men who loudly announce that "I'm ONLY a top. I'd NEVER bottom!" I understand that some people find receiving anal sex unpleasant, but that attitude of it being somehow beneath them really P.O.'s me. It's not necessary that I HAVE to be able to have anal intercouse with a guy, I just want to know that the option is there. My own personal little idiosyncrasy.
