Ugly Comments by a forum member

Dear Members,

Although we do our best to keep the forum clean, some posts occasionally do slip through the cracks. A recent example of this can be seen by a user generaljoe who made a handful of hateful posts.

Due mostly to our delay in responding on these, we would like to sincerely apologize to any members that took offense from it.

We would also like to thank the members who reported the post, your help in keeping the board a friendly place is greatly appreciated.

Dear Mod,

I (fortunately) missed the rantings, but since a couple of them were quoted, I got the idea. As a gay member of the board, I'll say, don't worry about it. I doubt such an individual has the intellect to come up with anything truly profound. Most of us (at least, I know I have) have heard much worse.

I haven't the least problem with discussing a difference of opinion with anyone. Idiocy is another story... I just don't have the time for it.

Free speech is important, but this is not a government sponsored site (is it?). Therefore the content acceptable to this website is up to its moderators and members, and need not be held to a complete free speech standard. That is actually an incarnation of free speech: don't individuals, such as those who sponsor this site, have the right to sponsor the speech and opinions they agree with and believe in? Unless it is a government sponsored site, the moderators and sponsors have the right to direct the content of THEIR site.
