Erection points straight up

I am a 16 year old male and I was wondering if there was something wrong with me. When I get an erection it is almost pointing straight upwards. I thought an erection goes straight out or something. Can you help?

Not abnormal at all. It's just a strong erection. If you lay on your back, naked, and get an erection, you'll notice the penis points right at your face, it's just the way EVERYONE'S parts are angled. Using guys in porn who are absurdly well endowed as a model could lead you to belive that an erection is supposed to straight out. However, the fact is that if they were smaller, the penis would angle up more. This IS NOT to say that you are small, it just means that they are HUGE and that their vascular system cannot support that sort of weight on its own, which is how erections are sustained in humans, unlike some animals that actually have a bone to do it.

Think angle, not curve. If it curves, you're cool. If it angles, you've got a problem.

Normally a strong erection points upwards. That’s because the penis is linked with the abdomen with a ligament. There are men with different lengths of this ligament. Different lengths, different pointing. Don’t worry, the guys from XXX movies (their erections are always straight) have cut their ligament. That’s why their penis looks longer than average.
