It depends on your definition of virginity really.
To me, if you're engaging in a consentual (sp?) sexual act with someone of the same or opposite sex, and you're doing some sort of penetration other than fingering and tongue, then to me, you have lost your virginity. Rape not consentual and therefor to me, doesn't qualify as losing your virginity to someone. I don't consider anything forced to be "your first time". My first kiss was with someone I didn't care about and he made me do it. While it was technically my first, I don't consider him that. I consider my first kiss to be with the person I'm with now. I wanted it and he wanted it and nothing was forced. Others however would disagree. I know people that got raped their first time and say they lost their virginity to them...which in a way they did, but not really. Others say that it has to either be two males or a male and a female in order for one or both to lose their virginity. So yes, all depends on your definition.

I may be a little hard line here, but I think that consensual (definitely NOT rape) sex- any kind of sex (oral, manual, penetration) between any two people means you are no longer a virgin. Regardless of the shading that people want to give it... intimacy is still intimacy.

I would have to say that there are two answers to this question:
Physicaly Virginity: This is the act of breaking the hymen. With the introduction of tampons, many young women break their hymen during hteir first few periods, and so the "lack" of a hymen can be defined as the presence of a hymen. However, for me, i belive that virginity really is about the willing acceptance of a penis into one's vagina for the purpose of sexual intercourse. Toys, dildo's etc to me are NOT the same as a real penis. Emotional/Mental Virginity: If a female is raped or sexually assaulted by anyone and loses her virginity that way, that while she technically is not a virgin anymore, the fact that it was taken from her would allow her to reclaim it when she willingly gave up herself consensually!

I always thought that loss of virginity entailed the entry, *however deeply or otherwise, of an unsheathed penis into an equally bare vagina, resulting in physical contact of the sexual organs. *If you've ony ever done it with a condom, even if you're a globally recognised porn star, I'd still consider you a virgin.
Grin all you want, but with that definition, you will 'know', in the carnal sense, the feeling of sex, much as you only know what a Mars bar tastes like if you unsheathe it. although tbh I've never considered whether entering another man 'bareback' constitutes loss of your own virginity. Jaybee.

This is a tough one.
I had been w/ a guy and was fingered before I was with the guy I actually had sex with. I considered the latter me losing my virginity. Yes, the first guy did penetrate me w/ fingers but he was capable of doing more....ya know? Ok so if my first experience was with a girl and she penetrated me to the extent of her ability, ie...dildo. then yea I think you two would have went "all the way" since that is as far as you can go, lol. Does that make sense? probably not, lol. It's so confusing lol.

I agree with Tease that It depends on your definition of virginity really.
I agree with Oberon that intimacy is still intimacy to a point. I think a virgin can do some fairly heavy petting and retain her virginity but once penetration of the penis occurs so does the loss of her virginity. Now with two women. I agree with Buttercup. Once you have gone as far as penetrating the vagina your not a virgin anymore. Jaybee I don't agree with at all. So what if I was a virgin and he only did it with condoms on. No way could I say I was still a virgin.

Try to separate the concepts of sex and innocence from virginity. As you know the average women is only 5" deep, and most of the time I don't go in to the hilt anyway. My point is, unless the condom rouches up at the bottom, there has been no actual contact between my penis and the interior of her vagina. Doesn't matter that I've brought her to the dizzying heights of ecstasy and she made me roar like a pig being slaughtered. Doesn't matter if I came 4 times that night. We had sex, we might have cheated on our partners, and had the event taken place 20 years ago, we certainly would have lost any 'innocence' we had back then, but did our sexual organs make contact? Yes, or No? No contact, no loss of virginity. Jaybee.
