there is nothing wrong with being homosexual, or bisexual, just as there is nothing wrong with being "straight". all humans have come from the same place and it is said that all humans originated from one race. people are people, dont judge them by their sexuality! homophobia is just like racism, accept against gay people. i have a sister who is bi and a whole lotta friends who are gay and bi. homosexual people or bisexual people are not different from "straight people" in any way. i think that it sorta falls into the category of freedom of speech a little bit. people get all freaked out when they see 2 women or men kissing but straight people are shown having sex on tv all the time where anyone can see them, and gay people cannot even get married? that is stupid!!

i bet no one will listen to me anyways i think im the youngest person on the boards......but lemme know if u think my answer is intelligent at all.

Thanks, girl12. Young or not, it sounds to me like you have a great outlook on life. I really appreciate such an impassioned response. I especially like the fact that you know how you feel and aren't afraid to say so.

If you couln't already figure out from some of my prior posts, I too am gay. I was married for 12 years, have a teen age son, and live with my partner of 7 years. I am happy, balanced, pay my bills, worship god, celebrate life and family just like millions of others.

So, why is being gay wrong. Having been extremely invloved in my church before coming out, the bible says it's wrong. So, for those who think that the BIBLE is the definitave guide to living a "christian life", it's easy to just say - gays are immoral.

The IRONY of that argument is that, as we all know, there are LOTS of things that are "immoral" and "wrong" in the bible, but those same bible-thumpers like to pick their "pet" issues to beat society up with. For example, divorce is wrong. Premarital sex is wrong. Yet, we know from all statistics that there are millions more marriages, people living together, having children out of wedlock, etc....then ALL the gay people combined. Yet, all we hear from the pulpit is how gay people are undercutting the fabric of american society and the family unit. That, it's ok to be gay, just don't act on it. Love the sinner, hate the sin. I could go ON AN ON.

Also, being a bit of a student of the scriptures, if one DOES take the bible literally - as THE DEFINITAVE GUIDE to living a christian life - then i will say this in closing.

12 "This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

If you belive in Jesus and the bible, then THIS is your new commandment. It was Jesus' last wish to his people.

It dosn't say, "love christians, as i love you," or "Love Baptists' as I have loved you" - it says LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

So, to all of you who belive that being gay is a sin, or wrong, or unholy, etc....then please ask your God for forgiveness. For you have committed a greater sin in NOT following the last commandment!

I love my country. I love my God. I love my Son. I love my parents and family - and i love my partner. I even love those who hate be because of who i am - a child of god. A GAY child of god.

thanks oberon.....i also wish that alot of people were more open minded.....it might help solve some of the worlds' problems.

Whoa....guys, guys! *Read my original post. *NO religious arguments here. *I have heard those ad nauseum. *What I am looking for here are reasons that would shed some light on WHY all these people, these "bible thumpers", think being gay is harmful.

Stealing, murder, lying. *All these hurt someone in some way. *How does my being gay take anything away from anyone else? *How does the fact that I love another man force anyone else to change their lives?

And no disagreement doesn't equal hate. *I disagree with alot of things people do, but I don't try to force them to change their lives. *And I don't vote to make it illegal for them to live as they wish.

First let me say I'm not against or for gays.
If you want to be gay then thats your decision wether i like it or not i must respect it. So anything i say here, please dont take the wrong way. I mean no disrespect at all.

let me try and clear something up that Rawbob said. He quoted from the bible:

"This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. "

This doesnt mean the bible says its ok for homosexuality. There are different degrees of love. I love my mother and my father. But i dont love them sexualy. When jesus said this in my opinion i believe that he was saying to love one another in the sense that to love them as if they were your pet (OK bad example, but you get the idea).

As for the no religious side of things i would like to say this.

If you think of a human as any other animal, because we are animals to an extent. Most animals goals are survival. And how does a sepcies survive. You reproduce. Homosexuality (I keep saying that it doesnt sound like a real word) is un-natural. Males and Female are made for each other. A Male has sex with the Female and they produce a child. a male has sex with a male - oops wrong hole. no child. Its un-natrual. It not usual thats all. And People are affraid of new things, people see it as unusual and there first reaction is 'wow hey thats not what your ment to do with that'.
But then humans arent exactly like animals. We are a little more advanced. we dont look at our lives and say our goal is to reproduce. your primary goal in life should be enjoyment!
Enjoy life before you die! and if you get a kick out of sleeping with another guy. Hell then go for it. But think if the entire world was gay...Well...I guess we are all dead.
But the fact of the matter is we are not all gay. So if a few people are gay let them have there fun.

I do hope i have not disrespected anyone. I just wanted to express my point of view on the matter.
