Hey everybody, I'm a 16 year old virgin. I've been curious for a while about circumcision affecting the sensitivity of the head of a penis. I am uncircumcised and it is very sensitive. I figured that this is because it really doesnt come into contact with anything since it's always covered by the skin. I was just curious about whether or not it will actually hurt somewhat during sex/oral sex or something like that. I know that when I masturbate I dont try to touch the head uncovered, and when I do it really is uncomfortable and feels like it would hurt if I were to be rougher. But, if you look at porn and all, you see the guy getting the head of his penis rubbed very roughly at times, and it seems like it should hurt like hell to me, lol. Guess that's all, though any comments about what people think with preferances between cut and uncut penises would be appreciated as well, considering that the people I know constantly make fun of those who are uncircumcised and I would like to know if it has any effect during actual sex. Thanks for the replies, I'm glad some people responded. Kind of got a lot of information I didnt really ask for. I know about the cleanliness issue...and about the increase in cervical cancer due to an uncurcumcised penis, but I was really just curious about if there are any preferances women have for a man being cut or uncut and whether or not it is normal to be sensitive. I think it would be rather embarassing if you were recieving oral sex and it was actually uncomfortable or painful to feel stimulation to the head. From what I've heard talking to girls who spoke of their past experiences, they automatically assume that guys like direct stimulation to the head and so I figured the sensitivity of it in my case must be a bit weird.
ya don't worry about it, I was told to just gradually pull the skin back until it would easily retract. Its easiest to do it in the shower. Eventually the skin should automatically retract during erections too. You'll probly notice some yellow\white crumy stuff around your head once u pull it back, its a natural bacteria fighter. I don't think it will go away perminantley but just washing your head with soap and water will keep it clean and stop girls from running away from your dick
Thats the hygiene part she was talking about. When your uncut its like you have both, so I don't see what the big deal is. Plus it will become less sensitive and enjoyable have your head touched

The head of the circumcised penis does become a bit less sensitive for the reasons you describe. When men are done in their teens or twenties, they do often feel discomfort for a while.
Do not believe the stuff in porn flicks. There is a lot made up and you are looking at people who do this for a living not just pleasure. They are intended to be a bit shocking.
The main reason for circumcision is hygiene and just two weeks ago a new study was published showing that circumcision reduces the chance of contracting HIV in Kenya is reduced by half. There is also a lower incidence of cervical cancer among women married to circumcised vs non-circumcised men.
