Headache instead of orgasm

So me and my girlfriend were fooling around today, and i started to come, and my body got tense and stuff, but rather than having a normal orgasm, the pleasure was replaced with a massive headache, that started where the neck meets the skull, and went all the way to behind my eye balls. Has this ever happened to anybody, and if so, is this something that should be checked out? cuz im just a bit worried since this never has happened before.

If it ever happens again with the intensity you describe, have it checked.

There are two things that could be happening. One is that you are tensing up a lot and causing an intense tension headache. The other is that so much blood is going to your lower abdomen that the arteries in your skull are constricting. This would often be accompanied by some ocular symptoms - tunneling of the vision or spots before the eyes.

well there was no tunnel vision or anything, my head just really hurt, and it felt like it was gonna be a really strong orgasm, so i was pretty tense. But if it does happen again im definitely going to the docs. thanks brandye

95% of the time i orgasm, i get a bad headache...i havent figured out a way to avoid it. When you figure it out pleas let me know.

My neck kind of cramps up sometimes, depending on intensity (this last one has lasted a WEEK, damn that was a good O), but never a really bad headache

stormy you may want to go get that check. read what brandye said.

hi, every one. I found this link http://www.actionlove.com/extra/headache.htm
do you believe it?

So basically, you get a headache, dizziness, etc. because your basically using up the nutrients your brain requires while your aroused?

Not really, you are aroused it increases blood flow to your low abdomen; it causes more work for your body to keep oxygen going to the brain; therefore your heart rate picks up, your veins are also constricting, your penis or vaginal area are engorged (causing more of a demand). Now you tighten up, your working like a dog going at it, you orgasm and all of a sudden your body relaxes and your veins dilate. Thus, the end result is vasodilation and a headache. If your body is having issues your veins are clamping down (near the neck & back of head) you get a tension headache--more like tiny spasms in the vessels in the neck, back of the head, base of the skull, around the temporal regions, and around the eyes. They are tough to break. To a degree your body requires additional hydration (H2O), adequate nutrition, and additional oxygen. The end result is also a release of multiple chemicals into the blood stream & to the brain and build up of acids which are released from your muscles. Serotonin is also a link to these.

Tried to explain the best I can in easy terms...Think of really hard exercise and pushing your muscles to their fullest extent (you are pumped up working out) how do you feel when it hits you later????

If it re-occurs see your doc. Be cautious of what you read on the Internet for the mere fact there are other circumstances which can occur which are VERY rare and there are times info is not considered reliable. Whenever in doubt see a doc.

I've sort of had a bit of this, and I think blood flow is the answer. Sometimes while masturbating I'll get a bit of tunnel vision, but that's about all. Since I'm a girl, I'm wondering what inside me could be using that much blood?

Your entire pelvic cavity is being engorged. The pelvis is a major blood hog and when people are injured (from trauma) with even a small fracture a big time leaker which is silent. But looking at the degrees of sexual arousal the required blood flow is significant. When I first read Brandye write this...I thought it a bit bizarre...how can you have so much blood demand for sexual arousal? I am so used to trauma victims...and looked up info. myself--it's a major draw on the body and a sudden rush; therefore, the slightest bit of dehydration will affect anyone.
