When ever my husband and I are starting anything, rather it be making love or just messing around at first. Or even me mouthing him, he shuts his eyes. Yes he does moan a little and tell me he like it. But is this normal for him to close his eyes. We've been married over 26 years.

He shuts his eyes

i hate when the guy shuts his eyes. it feels so much better when we're staring into each others eyes. you've done this for 26 years? wow. talk to him about it. maybe trade him opening his eyes and gazing into yours during sex with something sexual he wants.
It is right to shut your eyes.
It is right to keep eyes open.
As a Ballroom dance instructor I frequently have a student close his/her eyes while practicing a step pattern. The reason for this is to reduce the "clutter" and the outside distractions the brain would otherwise have to contend with.
I understand why it is desireable to have his/her eyes open because it is confirmation that we are "engaged" with our partner.
Perhaps there is a middle ground in which a person can have their eyes open until deep concentration and focus are required. Discuss this between you and see if there is room in your romance for both now that you understand the reason for shutting out the world---all except for you. It is that that the person is really focusing on.
