EEESh.... yeah i understand now.... after reading some stuff off of a couple of links ((thanks buttercup)) and what not... yeah i think i would be totally in the same state of mind as my girlfriend and any other woman.. thank god i am a guy....
I didn't care for my gyno. He wasn't bad at what he did, just his and my "ideals" didn't mix well. He kept wanting me to do stuff in which he really had no business in telling me to do that. He treated me more like a 15 year old that went in for an exam rather than the adult I was.
The exam isn't bad though. You just... feel odd.... doing it. There you are spread eagle and exposed to someone you're not sleeping with and turned on by. I think that's what makes it uncomfortable.
Yeah, I think most women I know really hate going to the gyno. I've always had great gyno's that have been very sweet and patient with me, but it's just freaking scary! lol.
I hate getting naked and putting on my white gown and waiting for them to enter. I hate when they tell me to lie down and do my breast exam. I feel so weird, like I'm being molested. lol. Then when they pull the stirrups out, I'm soo emberassed and freaked. Then you slowly put your tootsies into the cold stirrup with your knees together.. they gently try to get you to relax your knees and let your legs fall apart (It's like heyyyy, look at me!) then like 90% of the time, no matter how far down I position myself on the bed I always have to do the scoot. where they keep saying "scoot down a little further, little more, little more..." till your butt is falling off the bed.
I mean it takes like 5 minutes max! it's not a big deal, I've never been hurt, I just hate it. lol. It makes you so emberrased and violated feeling. Uggghhh. And I dont' even know why! I mean, I know they are doing their job and being professional, but it's just freaky. lol
Well its definetly no walk in the park. Especially for someone like me who is VERY shy and insecure about my body..etc.
I'm sure Gynos are like any other DR or dentist. Some are very gentle and others are awful and inconsiderate.
My DR was at my school clinic and SHE was super nice and explained everything she was doing so I wouldn't be surprised. I don't think I could be as comfortable w/ a male DR, but thats just me.

As far as actual pain.. I think I'd rather go to the Gyno than the Dentist, but Im deathly afraid of the dentist, lol.
Anyhoo, its not that it hurts so much is that its just uncomfortable and embarrassing. Being probed w/ weird objects, having someone "down there" and fingers touching you but NOT in a sexual way is totally weird. I usually can't have sex for at least a few days or longer... I just feel totally violated, lol.
Plus, just being in the stirrups and spread for the whole world to see is embarrassing as well, but hey thats life. Glad I only have to do it once a year.
Not to offend anyone, AHEM ((the ladies of the board)), but is the Gynocologist REALLY like the nightmare doctor from HELL? Cause, it goes back to my g/f getting Birth Control, but ANYWAYS, she like is DEATHLY afraid of her Gyno... anytime i bring up "taking care of herself by going to the doctor" she nearly has a PANIC attack and dies... Soo? can anyone give me info on exactly WHAT they do so im not so insensitive to her Phobia?
There is a doctor/patient cofidentiality thing so more than likely, the doctor wouldn't tell her mom. But yea, best bet is she alreadys thinks you've done it or will do it in the future.
And as fury said, nothing happens if you don't go, it's just recommended.
I lost my virginity in December a couple years ago, and I didn't go till August the next year.... almost a year ago... and nothing happened to me.
Her mom said she was doing it because I was closer to her than any of her other boyfriends. So yea she probobly thinks we have or are going to in the near future.
My girlfriend's mom is putting my girlfriend on birth control, but she doesnt know that we have had sex. Will the doctor tell her mom that she has had sex. I dont think her mom would really care though so its not that big of a deal if the doctor does, but i would rather the doctor not.
More than likely if the mom is insisting on B/C then she probably already knows, lol.
Parents aren't blind.
I dont think the DR can really say much to the mom, really depends on how old your g/f is.

Nothing really. BUt they do recommend that after a girl becomes sexually active, that she goes in for yearly pelvic exam and pap smear.
