Going under the knife soon. Circumcision

Hi'yall just thought I'd let you know that I'm due to go into hospital on May 16th for a circumcision. My Urologist told me that this is the best form of action to take (my foreskin is very tight, and there's a tight band when it's retracted.) I'm kinda nervous but I know its the right move. This is my first ever operation and I will be going under a general aneasthetic so it's in most respects a "proper one". I'll let you know how it goes so hopefully anyone in the same situation can hopefully get an idea of what it's like. My Fiancee is back from university (permanently) the week after my op and I'm looking at no sexual action for a month! However she's back on Saturday for Easter holiday so we're gonna at least experience enough of each other to last for a while. I'm looking at a week to 10 days off work too - the pain I'm not looking forward to, I like a bit of SM but I'm not a total maschochist!!

So wish me luck, and I'll keep ya posted.

You will ooze for a few days so I recommend placing a feminine pad in your underware until it stops.

Ask the doctor for the strongest pain killer he can prescribe. The discomfort pretty much depends upon your pain threshold and tolerence.

Good luck ... I hope that it improves your life!

Thanks for the advice, I'm gonna be in bed for the week after so hopefully when I'm out and about the oozing will have stopped. I know what you mean because I recieved five stitches when I cut my cheek open (and that oozed) I like to think I have a pretty high pain threshold - but I'll ask for the painkillers!

As for it improving my life, I hope it does - you can imagine what a passion killer feeling like you've got an elastic band constricting your glans can be!!

Good luck! Best wishes!

Ouch, good luck, i always wondered what that'll be like, an HOPEFULLY *fingers crossed* won't have to :p

I was circuncised when young and remember no pain. was this because I was like seven (I don't mean bnot being able to remember but different growth situation)

Rayzorsharp, your name takes on a new meaning today.

Enjoy the painkillers.

Get percocet. You'll be good to go. When I had all four wisdom teeth pulled, I was on happy-cloud-nine with a few Koala bears, some rainbows, my girlfriend (who would have felt like heaven to touch if I could have felt ANYTHING), and some beer (well, what I thought was beer, I'm told it was apple juice that they kept filling up for me). I spent a week on the couch like this, the last three days or so just to milk it and watch baseball. Pretty awesome.

I had 8 teeth taken out last December and I was on Tylenol 3's. Codeine = your best friend. It is apparently slightly less powerful than morphine (from which is is synthesized), but considerably less addictive.

I wasn't very cloud nine-ish, but I really do miss being on those pills. I felt so free. Played a lot of car racing games. Mini personal crisis over just how much I loved the little buggers. I had 5 left when I stopped needing them for pain and my dad threw them out. Ouch.

Ha - didn't think of that :p

Update, I had my pre op medical the other day and I'm good to go (except the dozy nurse f*cked up the blood test and allowed the vein to continue bleeding in my arm - instead of pressing on it when she took the needle out like she's supposed to (now the escaped blood has to seep back into the bloodstream like with a bruise (and my arm has swollen around the elbow and it's very sore cause the swelling is pressing on the nerves) Typical I'm passed fit and then a day later I'm back in hospital with a problem they caused! (the nurse is not involved on May16th though thankfully)

I'm looking forward to the sensation of losing a few hours due to the anaesthetic (I've never got drunk or high or ever passed out) my nerves are okay (apart from the one in my right arm:rolleyes: )

I've been told that I can eat till midnight on the 15th and drink clear water right until 6:30 on the 16th (operation day) I'm due in hospital for 7:45am. After the operation I can go home as soon as I've eaten something and passed water (and there's no additional bleeding) There is an approximate recovery time of 10 days (in terms of returning to work etc) and a sex ban until 3-4 weeks :( and then It'll be sore the first couple of times. As far as loss of sensation in the longterm is concerned, I've been told it's negligable.

As ever I'll keep y'all posted.

I do wish you luck and a speedy recovery

Since so many men are circumcised as infants they have nothing to compare it to. It will be interesting to hear about your pre and post experience. As I said elswhere, I've only known one uncircumcised man and he was ADAMANT that no son of his would ever be circumcised. Not being male, I can't really speak to the issue. I can only say that the one foreskin I ever encountered was unproblematic. It was interesting to examine, but didn't make a difference to me, sexually. From what I've read, maintenance can be a problem for men with intact foreskins. On the other hand, I think circumcision is only practiced in certain parts of the world. At least you are not undergoing the rite of subincision as once practiced by some Aborigines!

No thankfully I will be knocked out first!

Re:

I wish i'd seen this post earlier, mate!

I had a circumcision done a couple of months ago now, and i'd be keen to compare experiences! I can also let you know what you're in for.

You said the op was on the 16th right? Well that was a couple of days ago so you're probably in bed recovering now, right? I was under a general too (weird feeling isn't it? I was high as a kite for the rest of the day, and chatted the nurses's heads off). I only took three days off before heading back to work, which seemed to be OK, although I did wear padding in my undies for about a week afterwards (it took about this long for all oozing to stop). The first day or two there was a lot of blood... especially after 'early morning fat'. Nothing like bleeding from your penis when you bar up to turn you off lol.

I basically had to break off all physical contact with my g/f (not easy as we were living together at the time) because even hugs that got too physical would give me an erection, causing some pain and bleeding. In fact erections weren't totally comfortable for at least a week because of the stitches. Oh btw I have some interesting photos if anyone wants to see - I was bruised and battered and stitched!

I wasn't able to masturbate for 18 (yes I counted) days. When I finally could, it was incredible! My orgasms are even better now because more blood can get to the head of the penis (it used to be constricted by the foreskin). For that reason i've also ended up with a little more girth around the top end of the penis (note - I think this is just a freak case in my case due to increased blood flow because the foreskin was too tight. I'm definetely not recommending anyone go out and get a circumcision for added girth!)Incidentally I have also had to adopt a new style of masturbation too.

The stitches didn't fully dissolve until about a month afterwards, maybe more.

The glans will become a little less sensitive (which is normal) but not in a way that makes intercourse (or anything else) less pleasurable. More in a way that, because our soldiers have been protected by their shields all their lives, the glans remaines ultra sensitive (for me it was extremely sensitive, and indeed painful to some touches). Once they spend a few weeks 'banging around' inside our pants the glans gets that desensitisation.

And yes you will need at least a month off from sex - you might think you're fully recovered but the area around the stitches reamins pretty painful when over-stimulated (that was the source of most of my pain when getting erections in the first few days after the op)

That's about all the info I can think of off the top of my head mate, but if you have any other questions feel free to ask! Good to meet another man brave enough to geg the 'ol 'flop n chop' hehehe

Yeah 3 days ago since the deed was done and I'll tell ya it's a lot more painful than I expected. Nothing can compare you for the shock of pain you get jolted with everytime your glans contacts the cloth of your shorts (and loose ones with the netting btw) or with the sanitary pad that I use to soak any blood (and boy was there a lot of that on Tuesday - I nearly passed out when I went to the toilet the first time! ) But still, I'm recovering now. I was prescribed Co Dydramol for the pain, but I've so far only used it for the first two nights to help me sleep. The thickness does seem to have increased somewhat, also it looks slightly bigger now (hopefully this is not temporary due to the stitching;) ) it looks a lot neater though and it's clean too.

As for Tuesday itself, I think being put out is one of the strangest experiences of my life. I was in the pre-op room on the bed chatting and I just felt my eyes roll upwards into my skull. The next thing I knew I was in recovery and I just wanted to sleep! The only horror of the day was the first time I walked to the toilet (stupid move) and left a nice pool of blood on the floor (Ooze my ass! ) When they say it may "Ooze" for a few days, they mean. "It's gonna gush blood for the first day and get progressively better - then it might "ooze" after that"

As for recovering, having too much time alone with my mind is not a good thing!

Apologies for committing two sins - Double posting and running two threads, but it was a while ago and I've forgotten which one was updated last!

just updating you all on how things have progressed. Obviously it's been several months now (I got Married Aug 5th too) and the stimulation factor is still excellent, also I'm very happy with how it's turned out - even if I do still pee in a "v" stream sometimes!

No pain at all of course and sex is excellent. There is scar tissue still but it's not a major concern.

Thanks for all the kind wishes by the way.
