Welcome to the SI101 Board and its Forums. I hope you enjoy participating. Please begin by reading the FAQs, Posting Guidelines, and the Index, all found at the top of the main screen.

The Index lists many helpful insightful articles and some how-to information on all aspects of relationships, romance, sex, and in your situation--the mechanics of orgasms. Please look and read the four or five that discuss female orgasms. Then if you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

You got close. Often it takes a few tries before you explode beyond the point of no return. Keep trying. Just relax and let things build. The clitoris often becomes too sensitive to touch immediately before triggering an orgasm. When this happens switch tactics and stimulate it indirectly by fingering the surrounding area. Try folding the inner labia over the clitoris and massaging the clitoris thru them. Alternately, try massaging the shaft of the clitoris.

Orgasms come in all sizes so you will discover that they are not all the same. Variety is spice! When it happens, there is no mistaking it, be it small, huge, earth shattering, rolling, or jerky or shaky.

As orgasm approaches, our bodies become hypersensitive. Most of us change pressure or motion or something to avoid the pain you describe. The clitoris actually becomes too sensitive to tolerate being touched.

I know women who never even spread their lips whilst masturbating. The pressure along the outer lips and the movement of the clitoral hood is all that can be tolerated. We women actually need to learn to have orgasms - it is not automatic with us. That means we also need to learn to masturbate and you have taken the first steps. The book Our Bodies Ou Selves is very helpful. As are some ideas on this site (look around) and clitical.com.

You should be aware that your brain is not used to this level of stimulation and until it is, and the final connections have been firmed up, the brain will think it is "pain" that you're feeling and it may shut-down the nerves as protection.

What to do:

Stop for a while.
Relax your body.
Relax your mind.
When you start again: focus your mind on feeling and keep this image in your mind's eye. Hot day in the tropics, on a floating raft, light breeze, very warm and pleassant, soo relaxed, and just riding the swells as they roll under you towards the beach.

Think only of this. Focus only upon this feeling.
The orgasm will come.
