Shower before hand, use a menstrual cap, generally when a female is aroused the flow will decrease. Put a towel under her or on the bed.

I agree, shower before and towel afterwards is the best solution. Or you could have sex IN the shower, which can be difficult but the cleanest option in this case.
I also noticed that I am bleeding less if I am having sex on my period. So I guess you shouldn't be too worried about it.

And Of Course Bathe Before..It's A Must it may also temporarily stop the bleeding but don't worry it will come back in a few minutes at the most and some girls don't have the privilege of having it go away to begin with..and don't be messy during it..it may turn the girl off.

Also if the flow gets too extreme just tell her maybe you should try it the next day...for me the sound when it's too heavy is a turn off..mostly because i've never had a good stomach for seeing blood but i've had a bad period sex experience and just take the tip of only doing it after the first few days of cycle.

Talk to your g/f about having sex during her period. If she agrees to it, then she will not be too self concious. Shower first, that way both of you could begin with some foreplay in the shower. Towels is a must as you dont want to stain the bedsheets.

If she does not want you to have sex with her during her period ie intercourse, there are other ways that she can get you off too. Its also a good time to find out if there are other ways where your g/f could be stimulated to an orgasms. Explore and find out.

There is nothing unhealthy about it. Some women find themselves more aroused during their period; other's find the cramps disappear.
