He looks cute? He looks more "manly" than all the 20-year-old boys? He shares life-experience instead of stories about his new x-box? He talks in a way they can relate to, which makes him feel like "one of them"? His bodylanguage is inviting? The girls don't even realize they're actually flirting with him and sending signals (at the such age; not uncommon)? Just a few thoughts of the top of my head
![]() Asking permission to attend lectures would be the least of surprises; it most logically means he tells a great story. Replace "he" with "you" whenever desired ![]()

Then we have the matters of grades, recommendations, contacts, perceived reputation enhancement. These things in a mentoring relationship have a way of wearing off. But then, there is next year with a new set moving into classes.

Ladies,
These are all logical suggestions and worthy of consideration. At 35 it's a little different. You're still a younger,"cooler" faculty member and don't have kids the age of the students. It's more to be expected. Fifteen years, many grey whiskers, a few grey hairs and 4-5 kilos later it is rather surprising, but not the sort of thing one looses sleep over. "Bad girl fantasies" Evil Evil Kitten. Well yes. That's obvious. Submissive? I am not so sure about that. Would baking a birthday cake for the child of someone who isn't even your teacher and having to be practically coerced into accepting payment be considered submissive? Brandye, not grades. This behavior rarely happens with my own female students. RedRoses your thoughts are the ones a fellow truly wants to believe. And when they flirt it's pretty shameless, especially the "bad girls." |

Why not believe it, dlb?
