Vertigo?
Hey guys,
I'm asking here because...well frankly its a last resort lol. I've tried medical sites but never get a decent response. So here's my issue. When I do something "strange" for the first time, I get this like...vision shift. For example. I once jumped naked into a hot tub with a ton of people. All of them complete strangers that I had met 2 hours prior. As I jumped in it felt like my mind was literally "moving". This was accompanied by a dizzy/shifting vision. My eyes felt stationary but my view was moving as if my eyes moved. Now granted my definition of "strange" isn't what most people would agree with but I'm not sure how else to put it. I went night swimming in my friends pool. Googles, glow sticks, and a pitch black pool. When I opened my eyes under water I experienced the same thing. The first time I broke into my friends house the same thing. (It wasn't illegal. We were airsofting and it was a "breaching" scenario). Also happened the first time I raced, rappelled off a cliff and climbed a 50 foot rock wall. The weird thing was it happened after I was at the top and safe. Now when I looked up vertigo it said it was a sudden orientation change accompanied with nauseau (sp), hearing loss, and dizzyness (like when you drink or spin). I don't have these symptoms. I just feel like everything is "off". My friends all call me crazy but has anyone here experienced something similar? To anyone who has vertigo or knows about it, does this sound like this could be my problem? I just wanna figure it out. If its something "okay" or a symptom of something worse to come. Sorry for the terrible layout of my post. Its a little difficult to explain, mostly since I really don't even know how to explain it.

Disclaimer: I have zero medical training whatsoever. So this is pure guess.
You said it coincides with doing something out of the ordinary. Is it possible you're noticing an uptick in adrenaline? That it's part of a "rush" or "buzz" from the excitement of the activity? |

vertigo is not a condition so check with a doctor to see if you have something where vertigo is a symptom. the common cause for vertigo i learned it problems with the ear. If your primary doctor can't help then i would think that they would recommend a otorhinolaryngologist(ear nose throat doctor) for you to see. It could be something simple or more serious so get checked soon.
i don't think it has anything something to do with adrenaline. adrenaline is used for your fight or flight response so it wouldn't be very effective if it made you dizzy and nauseous. |

Vestibular disorientation. Roughly speaking, your eyes and inner ears are telling you slightly different things and the brain gets a bit confused. This can be a problem with acrobats, pilots, night drivers. You feel disoriented and sometimes this induces dizziness or even nausea. Spiral stairscases, especially not well lit, do it to me.
