i do agree that a voice is much more powerful than text, i do want to say though that it is much easier to text in secret than it is to talk, you can text you partner what ever you want in public without fear of others knowing, doing that with an actual call is a bit harder

I will agree with you; however, are you forgetting that we got by just fine before computers, before cell phones, and certainly before being able to send text messages on the sly. A lot of movies have been made in which houses had a single phone sitting on a table at the foot of the staircase. Voices and whispers were easily understood in several rooms, downstairs and up. Oh! and what about party lines in which nosy neighbors and telephone operators sometimes got caught listening in?
