Thanks for the tip! Really appreciate it. All I basically drink now is water. The oily food is a hard thing to cut out but I'm going to try. It's hard not to think about it in the summer though I'm jealous, everybody gets to wear tank tops and bikinis but I have to cover my back. ugh!

I used to have severe acne until I treated it at the age of 20.
Until I treated it it just kept getting worse.

If you are healthy and willing to live six months on a low cholesterol diet and absolutely no alcohol or cigarettes then you might want to try the following medication:

Isotretinoin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The specific pill type I used was 20mg Curatane and after 4 months I had no more acne, but I continued to finish the minimal period of the treatment which is 6 months.

After the treatment I became much more confident because I know longer had that horrible image from the mirror that occupied me whenever I talked to a woman.

Isn't that pill a lot of money? I don't even have health insurance. Only the free one.

I have the same problem with acne. It used to be really bad when I was younger. I was prescribed two different drugs, the first of which helped but wasn't enough. The second one was hell. I had the runs for well over a year! my self-esteem hit rock-bottom during that time (imagine being 15-16 something and having to run to the toilets every 10 minutes not to shit yourself...). can't remember what these drugs were called though. But it helped with the acne, to some degree. I still have some problems, but it seemed to become much less when I was exercising regularly and staying away from fastfoods. The sun seems to help as well.

so, the only suggestions I have are:
1) keep your skin as clean as possible
2) get some sun
3) there are anti-acne gels which work really well, use them

Thank you Per. I'm still using some of the medicine my Derm prescribed to me.
