Health Issue, doesn't really go anywhere else...

Ummmm....this is gonna sound really weird and sorry if it grosses anyone out...but is green feces something to worry about?

A few weeks ago I thought I had an ulcer because I had had a few spots of bright red in my feces along with rather serious stomach pains, but they eventually went away. Now, earlier this week, they appeared again, twice, and now every time since then, it has been almost entirely green. I never really thought much about this, but it's never happened this often before. Any of the docs have any ideas as to what this could be or am I worried about nothing?

Green feces usually are a result of diet. Try any spinach pie lately? The bright red concerns me more. Talk to your doctor about an occult stool sample. You just put it in a box and some poor lab tech puts it on a slide to look at.

Need to see a doc if it's green. Main cause is either Spinach which passes fast...or an infection of sorts.

If it was blackish green...I would ask if you took Pepto Bismol recently? If yes, tell you to stop and wait a day or two.

The blood, if small is usually related to Hemorrhoids or a low & small GI irritation. However, since you stated green, any added Iron to your diet?

Seriously...need to get to the doc. Bring a sample of the green stool for analysis. Often seen where recent Antibiotics have been taken & there is a pending infection of the GI or secondary to Ova & Parasites...the stomach pain & noticing blood is what is concerning...

Could be spinach, if you ate a half pound of it, or some similar. I am always surprised when I eat a lot of beets, which is not often-oh no! I'm bleeding to death.

It could be an infection as Sera said if it is accompanied by pain or discomfort. I had this at the beginning of the year. It took almost two months to go away on it's own. I would have seen a Dr. but was on tour and in a different city almost daily. I seem to be well now, but I recommend visiting your physician.

I think I am gonna make an appointment, none of the diet issues you guys suggested relate to me, so I'm thinking I probably have some kind of infection. Thanks for the input, I'll keep you updated.
