where to go

For the life of me I cannot remember any places in Colorado, lived a couple of years in Lakewood. I was young, spent most of my time skiing (if the weather permitted) I guess. There were the donkeys, the zephyrs and mile high stadium. Colorado, that was fun.

Beautiful place/state............clean crisp air. The snow would wear me out
though. I love the warm too much over the long haul. LOL

For all that do care Utah actually has better snow. lol I've been telling people that for years and once they go they do agree.
It was a bummer moving back, how can anyone in Colorado be depressed, just get in your vehicle and go west. You'll enjoy the view on the way and heck when you get there, anywhere, it's a even better view.

I am curious to know if anyone has been to New Orleans recently and had been
there (traveled, dined etc prior to the storm). Has the Bourbon Street area
recovered fully? Are the wonderful restuarants thriving as they once did.
I am want to go for a weekend and see how it is now as opposed to what
we use to experience there.

what's for dinner

A few of my friends were down there for a weekend last month, they said it is getting there but have to wonder if it will ever be what it was. Alot of small places just couldn't handle such a large hit, financial, and didn't reopen. They still had a good time but said it was not what it was. I'm thinking give it a few more mardi-gras.

you have all that mountain air, and I still can't think of where I would go out to eat there. I worked downtown, in the Tabor Centre when it first opened. We would go do down to red rocks on the weekends, or like I said if there was snow I was on ski's (can't do that anymore, haven't for more years than I care to admit).

Don't breath too much of that Colorado mountain air. Does Denver still have a smog halo?

I hate to admit that I really enjoy the Cajun Cuisine. Although it sort of
wears me out eventually LOL. The French was always so alive. Jackson
Brewery area down by the river. Of course, there were the "seedy" areas
but that place was a great deal of fun.

Missed this thread awhile ago. People in America tip because, depending on the state, your hourly wage ranges from $1.10 to $2.50. If a lunch service is extremely slow, one could easily spend $10 in gas to get to work, make $7.70 total from your hourly wage that shift, and $5 in tips. When this happens, you've made a whopping $1.81hr and that is taxed. The company is supposed to increase your pay up to minimum wage for that day, but rarely does that happen, and at best you only get a free lunch.

I highly recommend Fogo de Chao, a Brazilian churrascaria, for meat lovers. Granted I've been to them on review nights, so they had the best of the best working at that time, but they have been wonderful and consistently beat their competitors in the high class Brazilian steakhouse market; Brassa.

Taste of Chicago is amazing. Knowing enough locals or going through enough dining magazines, one can easily spend the entire day eating at amazing mom and pop places from over 10 different cultures for <$100- All of them great! Try Joy Yees for any type of asian or Navy Pier for Japanese and French. There are simply too many to list.

SoCal- You just have to go to Convoy to hit Yogurt World, the many Pho places, Tapioca Express, Tofu House, or Goldilocks's Philipino bakery. While the Rubio's franchise fish taco's are good, it's a much better experience to get them at local surf joints like Wahoo's, Surf Taco, Taco La Playa, etc. Try the donuts with the dawn patrol at mission beach.

NorCal - Chinatown in the Bay Area and of course Napa Valley. Have lunch at V. Sattui winery and bring a box home. They have world class wines at affordable prices!

Cleveland - Westside market; simply amazing.

Can anyone give some good, not too expensive restaurants in NYC?

I know they're everywhere, so I'm talking about good atmosphere, good food, nice part of town, etc.
