is anyone here a singer?
i have a big performance tomorrow with my gospel choir, and quite a big solo also. however, today in rehearsal i might have overdone it a little. my throat is sore sore sore! i can talk, but i don't want to push it so i'm drinking HOT tea with honey and refusing to talk for the rest of the night. i'm pretty much driving people crazy by scribbling on a little whiteboard everything i want to say : )
does anyone have any tips to help me keep my voice? It's the first time my director has put this much pressure on me and i really don't want to let him down!

You'll be fine.
Be sure to warm-up slowly and lightly. Don't warm up your high notes right away, rest comfortably in the middle of your range. Don't be on vocal rest the morning of, but do not scream or press at all. You need your voice to wake up with you. |
