whatya readin?

is anyone reading anything particularly interesting? i'm currently in the midst of a modern classic, the fountainhead. and also I'm an english major - now what? and introduction to zen buddhism. all very interesting. i dont usually like to read more than one or two books at a time - it gets confusing - but i figured these were different enough!

i'm something of a bibliophile myself, anyone else with this wonderful affliction?

i really love fantasy and science fiction, but i've really been into classics lately. i'm considering wuthering heights for the 3rd time and dickens is always a favorite. and my evergoing quest to finish the agony and the ecstasy, which i started in the 6th grade. ooh and e.m. forster. a room with a view! so romantic. okay,
ill stop rambling and let someone get a word in edgewise.

anything particularly excellent on your nightstand?

Ducy is just really nice
Not necessarily on my nightstand.

But a few I have read in the past year.

Hot Zone, Company Commander, Rogue Warrior (Navy Seal founder bibliography) Point Man "Warriors of Ultramar, Bringer Of Darkness, Dead Sky Black Sun" (All a series) "Space Wolves, Ragnars Claw, Grey Hunter, Wolfblade, Wolfs Honour" (All A series) Devils Teardrop, The painted House, The Watchers.

The Series books were science fictions, the Hot zone is about the ebola outbreak that popped up in the US for a while. The last three were awesome fiction books, and the last ones were all war books.

Oh and of course, Harry potter 5 through the end. (dont know how many lol)

Re-reading all the Sherlock Holmes stories right now; just finished off the Republic, the Prince, and Stranger in a Strange Land.

Ducy, by the Watchers, do you mean the trilogy by William Meikle?

I'm reading A Clockwork Orange at the moment, but I just finished up, Neuromancer, Count Zero, and Mona Lisa Overdrive. I highly recommend those three books. Their a cyber-punk trilogy written by William Gibson, and if you like science fiction and haven't read them, you need to. Fan-f***ing-tastic. Snow Crash is another brilliant cyber punk novel that I recently read. What Dreams May Come, Catch-22, and any H.P. Lovecraft are also recommended, but they aren't science fiction.

Other suggested Sci-Fi reads:
-Ender's Game
-Dune
-The Forever War

If you enjoy Japanese Literature:
-Kokoro
-Distant Thunder

If you enjoy graphic novels that arent your everyday superhero comics:
-Neil Gaiman's "The Sandman Library" - the only graphic novel series to ever win a literary award (The Pulitzer)
-Frank Miller's "Ronin"
-Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns"
-Frank Miller's "Sin City"
-Red Son
-Fables Vol. 1
-Mr. Punch

No, its a book about a government experiment to make superhuman dogs and monkeys. The monkey hates the dog, and goes around trying to kill it, and the dog escapes find some guy and then they wind up fighting the ape and some hitman. Its an amazing book (although the description sounds funny)
