K...so basically I fell asleep two hours ago, and my dog came in my room about 5 minutes ago and started licking me....which woke me up of course...but aside from opening my eyes....I couldnt move or speak...it was as if a giant weight was holding me down....I mean it slowly got lighter and I started to move around (although slowly and in jerky movements)...It was the scariest time of my life (even though it was about 30 seconds)
Yea...sorry just had to tell someone haha.

Im not sure if it was a deep sleep...I mean I was wide awake when I woke up...did not feel tired still just couldnt move...Like I willed myself to but it was no good....and no I hadn't been drinking or did any drugs (medicinal or recreational)...I do have a clean bill of health the medical probelms I was having have since gone so IDK lol
Not too worried about it though, I was just like OMFG and haaaaaaaaaaaad to tell someone haha

Oh! That has happened to me before...its like you want to move but you just can't.
Its creepy and frustrating, I always assumed it happened if I was sleeping deep or because of my back problems. Maybe you were sleeping a way that pressed a nerve or something?

it is common. when an anesthesiologist puts you to sleep, they also administer drugs to paralyze you, so that you do not move in your sleep. the brain (normally) emits similar chemicals in deep sleep, to prevent you from hurting yourself in your sleep. sometimes people wake up in "the wrong order" and cant move

Maybe it was because you were woken up so suddenly. Like your body didn't have enough time to fully wake up.
Thats really weird and scary though. I mean I guess thats what it would feel like to be paralyzed. I think I remember my boyfriend said something like that happened to him once. And he felt like a weight was pushing him down. Which is probably like your own self trying to pull you up but you can't move or something. I dunno I've never experienced that. I'm such a worry wart though I'd probably freak out if that ever happened to me hahahha. |
