Why do you think it happened?
Some people fail b/c they are busy partying etc... instead of studying. There is also that freedom of if you want to skip class... you can. Not like work or High school.

I did really good in college when I was at a community college. Then I moved away to a University and it was a BIG adjustment. I didn't fail all my classes... just like 1 or 2. The rest I got Bs instead of my usual As lol.

I had to adjust to such larger classrooms... etc.

I think a lot of people do that their first semester or year. Then, it'll become a realization of... Hey I am paying for this.. why am I slacking off? I'll never graduate at this rate... then that usually helps to get your butt in gear.

Just make sure you don't overwhelm yourself. I started slow w/ a few classes and then by my last year I was taking 5 courses..no problem.
Also, try to arrange it so that you are taking maybe 1-2 really hard classes a semester and mix those in w/ your general classes and/or classes you really enjoy taking.
Plus most schools have a grade forgiveness type of thing where you are allowed to retake like 2 or 3 classes. You have to complete forms and submit them and when you retake the course the second grade is the one that counts... and the F isn't even on your record or calculated in your GPA.

Good luck!! don't let it dampen your spirits

Depends on why you failed! Is it something you really want or is it expected? Do you like the courses you are taking? Do you understand what's happening?

Does it mean you are a failure as far as a future? Nope. I was "invited to leave" due to my grades. I did not want to pursue the field which I discovered later. Went into a different area, different school [Community College] and still hated it but I wanted to be a nurse. Many years later, I went back and completed a BS in Business/Paralegal/Comp. Sci. Then on to Nurse Practitioner's Master's level, and now completing my MPA, graduating next month.

The point was; it sounded good to be in a private college in the Comp Sci. field, made my family happy and until I realized it was not what I wanted I failed due to lack of interest.

Many other's failed out due to "partying" and were not ready to acclimate to the surroundings and could not structure themselves. You have to find the area you LOVE and follow it.

This happens especially to those who didn't have to study much in regular school. My advice to you is to take EVERY program available for tutoring and counselling that the college offers. You aren't the only one and they (colleges) have lots of resources to help you out, they don't want students to fail and they programs to help you, just don't feel bad about seeking those programs out! You'll be okay!

My words exactly

Most people that did not have to study don’t know a method of how to study and the people that were the sluggers at school tend to do better
Enroll in advanced study methods classes it will help you to learn to study and show you different methods you can use

maybe the program wasnt right for you? college is a really hard time in your life, when you ahve to balance social life and studies, and if you find out you arent too interested in your studies they will def slip.
